Radio 1 pushes Internet video

US rock band The Strokes will star in Radio 1’s latest foray into Internet video.

After the band’s ‘intimate’ London ULU gig on 5 December has been broadcast on Lamacq Live, the video will be on the station’s website for seven days. It will also be available, via the red button, to digital TV viewers.

‘Radio 1 knows its audience want to see as well as hear,’ said Daniel Heaf, Radio 1’s interactive editor. ‘We see the space behind the red button as the best place to visualise radio and give our audience exclusive and extended access to the best live music.’
