Plantronics.Audio 45 review
The .Audio 45 is a bargain, purely on account of the fact you’re getting a USB connection for less than £30. This translates the two streams of your call into a digital signal and leaves your PC speakers free to play regular music. Apart from the fact it means you won’t interrupt your entertainment every time the phone rings, it also lets you set independent volume levels for calls.
The headset is light and comfortable, with the microphone on the end of a rigid arm that can be rotated out of the way. The cable unfortunately splits into two and attaches to each ear pad, which can restrict movement, but at least it’s long and there’s a volume-and-mute control at the halfway point. Sound quality is good, and at this price we can overlook its minor shortcomings and the fact that the cable-tidy mechanism is a couple of freezer bag ties.
