Eudora 7 review

Price when reviewed
Eudora has been around forever, yet it remains innovative. The latest version in this advertising-free ‘Paid’ mode adds IMAP remote access, S/MIME encryption, and the intriguing BossWatch, which alerts you to designated addresses when sending email (useful to avoid embarrassing messages to the boss in a reply-to-all scenario). Also new is an embedded version of the X1 desktop search engine, bringing instant email search within the client (Outlook 2003 took more than a minute to search 7,500 messages, Eudora less than a second in our tests). Add the effective SpamWatch filtering, anti-phishing ScamWatch feature, advanced contextual filing capability (single-click filing to multiple folders containing matching words), simple importing from Outlook and message sandboxing to quarantine viruses, and you end up with a client that demands your attention.
