Slow motion is a great effect that can make your videos stand out from others. The Samsung Galaxy J7 Pro comes with a powerful camera that offers you the option to record your videos in slow motion.

What’s more, in addition to slowing them down to create funny clips that are very popular on social media, you can also tweak the videos to adjust the speed and duration of your slow-mo clips. There are a few simple steps you need to take to achieve the desired results.

  1. Go to the Home Screen

From the Home screen of your Samsung Galaxy J7 Pro, you should open the Camera app.

  1. Mode Button

Once you are inside the live camera, you should tap on the Mode button to preview all the shooting modes that come preinstalled in the app.

  1. Select Slow Motion

The pop-up video menu features several different shooting modes. The one you are looking for is, of course, labeled Slow Motion. Just tap on it to activate the slow-motion video capture and your camera is ready to go.

  1. Recording in Slow Motion

To record a video in slow motion, you will use the standard Record button as you would in normal camera mode. On top of that, the Samsung Galaxy J7 Pro offers you the option to zoom in while recording in slow motion to better frame your video. The image is also digitally stabilized so you don’t have to worry if your hands are a little shaky.

Tweaking the Slow Motion Video

The J7 Pro also allows you to make some adjustments to the slow-motion videos you take. The software is easy to use and intuitive so you shouldn’t have any problems creating a perfect clip in just a couple simple steps.

  1. Step One

Exit the camera on your phone and go back to the Home screen. From there enter the gallery where your videos are stored. Tap on the video you wish to edit and it should appear on your screen.

  1. Step Two

The part of your video that features slow motion is between the brackets in the playback bar. You can simply move the individual brackets left or right to adjust the duration of the slow motion to your preference. If the brackets cover the entire playback bar that means that the whole video is in slow motion.

It is worth noting that the app gives you the option to select different slow-motion speed. There are 1/2, 1/4, and 1/8 speed motion effects to help you get perfectly smooth videos. Usually, the 1/8 motion speed gives you the best slow motion, but that may depend on the action that you’re capturing.

Cutting Slow Motion Video

Once you’ve achieved the desired interval and speed of your clip, you may want to trim it down a little if you’re not happy with the length. Select the cut tool, set your desired interval using the brackets, and trim the video to the preferred length.

Final Word

The Samsung Galaxy J7 Pro can be a powerful little tool to create cool videos that can get a lot of likes on your social media accounts. In addition to the slow-motion function, you can use fast motion to create goofy loops from your clips. All these features are very easy to use, so don’t hesitate to try them out.
