SurveyMonkey allows users to create, analyze, and share surveys with team members, colleagues, and customers. Not only can you share surveys with other SurveyMonkey users, but with anyone who visits your website and social media platforms. The feedback you receive can help you make better data-driven results, focus on areas that need improvement, and grow your business.

In this guide, we’ll go through the process of sharing a survey on SurveyMonkey with people inside and outside your team.
Sharing a Survey
SurveyMonkey is an online survey platform designed for businesses, small enterprises, and institutions. Once you open an account, you’ll be able to create your own surveys or choose pre-designed templates made by experts. SurveyMonkey also offers 18 different types of questions with different settings, but some question types are limited to paid plans. You can also make quizzes and polls on SurveyMonkey.
There are 257 survey templates on this cloud-based platform. They cover various topics, such as employee satisfaction, management performance, consumer behavior, work environment, mental health, and more. These templates are designed for different audiences and made to meet the different needs of businesses. You can share SurveyMonkey surveys with employees, customers, target markets, and more. The feedback you gather can be analyzed using SurveyMonkey’s various analytics tools, including automatic charts, combined filters, and summaries.
You can choose between personal and business plans, which determine how you can share and reshare surveys. Although all plans offer an unlimited number of surveys, the basic free plan only allows you to create 10 questions per survey. It also lets you view only 40 responses per survey, which is enough for small businesses but not for larger enterprises. When it comes to business plans, you can choose between Enterprise, Team Premier, and Team Advantage.
There are different ways you can share surveys on SurveyMonkey, depending on the type of plan you’re subscribed to. If you want to share your surveys with people from your team, you need to be subscribed to the Enterprise plan. This plan also allows your team members to analyze, filter, and export feedback and results, and it comes with many other advanced collaboration features.
You also have the option to share your survey with people outside your team. The Basic plan lets you share a link to the survey and post it on social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn. If you want to share your survey via email or a messaging app, you need to be subscribed to a paid plan, whether it’s the Standard Monthly, Advantage Annual, or Premier Annual personal plan.
If you have a paid plan, here’s how you can share a survey on SurveyMonkey:
- Visit SurveyMonkey from your browser.
- Log in to your SurveyMonkey account.
- Go to the “My Surveys” tab in the top-left corner of the screen.
- Select the survey you wish to share from the list and check the box.
- Navigate to the share icon on the right side.
- Enter the email address of the person with whom you want to share the survey.
- Click on the “Continue” option.
- Go to the “Share Survey” button in the lower-right corner of the window.
If you choose to share a survey with someone outside your team, they will have the “View Only” level of access to the survey. This doesn’t mean that they won’t be able to complete the survey. On the contrary, they will be able to fill out the form, but they don’t have the option to change the questions or edit the survey in any other way. Members of your team can have full access to your surveys, but only if you grant it.
If you have the Basic plan, you’ll only be able to share a survey by generating a URL, which you can send to your respondents manually. You can also share the URL on various social media platforms.
Another way to share your survey is by embedding it on your website. It can also take the form of a pop-up survey, for which you can create an invitation. In addition, you can embed a survey in a mobile app. This allows you to receive in-app customer experience feedback. However, both of these options require paid plans.
SurveyMonkey also lets you share a survey via Facebook Messenger, allowing respondents to answer questions directly in the app.
Sharing a Survey With Another Account
As mentioned previously, only Enterprise members are allowed to share surveys with other members of the team. You can share individual surveys or numerous surveys at once. Follow the steps below to find out how it’s done:
- Go to SurveyMonkey.
- Sign in to your account.
- Proceed to the “My Surveys” tab.
- Check the box next to the survey you want to share.
- Click on the share icon on the right side.
- Select the accounts you want to share your survey with.
- Go to the “Continue” button.
- Choose the access level the account has. You can choose between “Full Control” and “View Only.”
- Click on the “Share Survey” button on the bottom-right corner of the window.
That’s all there is to it. Your surveys will be sent to your team members immediately. You can share your survey with multiple people at once. Just click on the “Back to Selecting People” button and choose more team members. You can stop sharing a survey with someone at any time.
When it comes to the level of access other team members have, you can select “Full Control” and “Read Only.” Full control allows team members to edit and delete survey questions, adjust the survey design, share data pages, view email contacts, create filters, etc. On the other hand, the “View Only” mode allows people to view the survey, survey collectors, and the survey results. They won’t be able to change anything. However, they will be able to answer the questions you created.
You also have the option to restrict team members of all access to the survey. But if you were going to share the survey with someone on your team, the “No Access” option isn’t for you. If you want to share a survey with someone outside your team, you the “Full Control” option is not available.
If you want to share surveys in bulk, select one survey from the list, and then check the “Title” box to select them all. Then, go to the “Share” option at the bottom of the page. There’s also an option to share one survey with your entire team. To do this, simply choose the “Share with my entire team” option on the “Share” window. The rest of the steps are identical.
If you give resharing permission, someone from your team will be able to reshare your survey with other team members.
Reach a Wider Audience With Your Survey
With SurveyMonkey, you can design comprehensive surveys and share them with team members, customers, and other respondents. Depending on the SurveyMonkey plan you opt for, your surveys can be edited by your team members and then reshared. You can use different outlets to reach a wider audience and collect beneficial feedback that can help your business grow in a variety of ways.
