Nissan has released a video of self-parking chairs, and they’re as impressive as any self-driving car we’ve seen. Nissan’s “Intelligent Parking Chairs” use technology originally developed for the company’s cars, and they’re shown in the video tidying themselves Mary Poppins-style.
The chairs can be activated with a clap and, despite what it looks like, they’re not actually powered by magic. Instead, Nissan says the chairs work by using four motion-tracking cameras in conjunction with Wi-Fi.
If you’re waiting to read a release date, I’ve got some bad news. At the time of writing, Nissan has no plans to release the chairs – they’re just a PR stunt for the company’s autonomous driving technology.
