Rapture will haunt you from the moment you enter, and just when you seem to have spotted the formula, BioShock hits you with chilling encounters with a crazed theatrical impresario or a moment of stomach-churning realisation. You can’t take anything for granted. This game makes you think, reflect and feel, and isn’t afraid to cover a wider emotional gamut than the usual rage and fear. For once, the hype is right.
