Virgin Media will include Spotify for free with broadband and mobile contracts, with no mobile data charges on the latter.

The ISP announced the deal with Spotify in July, but has now revealed the full details: new broadband customers or those renewing contracts will get a six-month Spotify Premium membership for free.

The free service only applies to customers on broadband contracts with lines at 30Mbits/sec or faster, which start from £18.50 a month. Spotify Premium costs £10 a month.

Those who already have Spotify will get the free six months added on to their existing accounts.

New Virgin Mobile customers will get three free months of Spotify Premium, and downloading or streaming music via the service won’t use any of their mobile data allowance during the free trial or afterwards, the company said. That only applies in the UK and roaming charges will still apply.

Virgin said it would be announcing further details about using Spotify via its TiVo set-top boxes in the coming weeks.
