Social Chain raises $2 million additional investment

Manchester-based influencer marketing company Social Chain has raised $2 million investment, with the intention of expanding into new markets overseas.

Social Chain raises $2 million additional investment

The investment comes from NVC, whose founder Georg Kofler is the former head of German broadcasters ProSieben and Premiere. NVC is a talent-management company, and the deal will give Social Chain access to the NVC pool of talent, as well as seeing Christian Grobel, managing director of NVC, join the Social Chain board.

Some of the investment will go to fund a new team based in Berlin, which will boost Social Chain’s numbers from 35 to 80.

Steve Bartlett, CEO of Social Chain, said: “Berlin offers a new challenge outside of the UK; an opportunity for us to learn about how different cultures use social platforms differently. We’re in the final stages of hiring business-development managers in our central Berlin office, who will start their Social Chain journey spending their first month in the Manchester office. The team will soon after look to develop strong European connections, taking Social Chain international.”
