That company was Deliveroo, the food delivery company which raised £210m from its Series E funding round. This was the biggest investment in any UK tech company this year, and points to the potential for companies focusing on fast delivery, whether that’s food, goods or people. The company has now raised a total of £365m.

Closest to Deliveroo were notonthehighstreet.com, which raised £21m, and fintech company Velocity, which raised £17.2m, illustrating the strengths of the UK’s tech companies in retail and financial technology.
