Eric Schmidt is stepping down as Executive Chairman of Google’s parent company, Alphabet. He’ll be staying on as a technical advisor but, he says, he “can’t wait to dive into the latest in science, technology and philanthropy”.
After ten years at the company, we can understand his eagerness to try something new, but it’s left us wondering who could possibly have the requisite skills (and time) to take over. If you were in charge of Alphabet’s HR team, who would you be sounding out?
