BT has introduced a new broadband service package designed specifically for small businesses, BT Business Total Broadband.

The entry-level Option 1 package, costing £19.99 (ex. VAT) for the first three months, then £21.99, includes up-to-8Mbps broadband with a 10GB monthly download limit. Option 2 (£26.99 on a 24-month contract or £29.99 for 12 months) and Option 3 (£58.50 on a 24-month contract or £65.00 for 12 months) dispenses with the download limit and also includes 250 BT Openzone wireless minutes per month. BT currently operates 390,00 Openzone Wi-Fi hotspots worldwide.
All three options provide the Business Essentials package, including ten Business Email Lite mailboxes and 20MB of webspace, access to BT Workspace Lite, software that allows everyone within the company to store, access and share information, and BT’s suite of Internet security software. They also get access to dedicated freephone helpdesk.
Option 3 customers also receive free access to IT Support Manager, BT Business’ extended telephone support service, where software and configuration problems can be remedied remotely over the internet.
All users also get Broadband Voice, which provides price-capped mobile and international VoIP calls – calls to the US for instance are capped at 10p for calls up to an hour long – in addition to an option for unlimited UK calls, for a single monthly fee.
‘For business customers in particular, broadband is much more than just being able to send emails and having high speed access in the office,’ said the managing director of BT Business, Bill Murphy. ‘Customers have told us that they want a broadband package which is designed with their business in mind. By launching our most complete broadband package just for business, we’re giving customers everything they need – business-grade broadband and support, security, collaboration tools and wireless access – which will allow them to concentrate on their business, rather than worrying about the technology.’
