Quick poll: Your take on Google closing Google+
Google has announced that it will be closing down the consumer version of Google+ by August next year, claiming security was one of the factors in the decision. Oh, and “the declining use of the platform”.
The security problem? Google discovered a “minor” API flaw that potentially gave some developers access to data that Google+ users hadn’t marked as public. This was cited as one of the challenges it faced in making sure its social network met consumers’ expectations.
