Varnam VM830BT review

A digital photo frame should merge seamlessly into domestic surroundings, but while Varnam’s 8in frame is plain enough to match any décor, its look is more function than designer label.

Varnam VM830BT review

Storage cards jut from the side, and an orange LED is constantly lit on the front.

It’s also over-glossy, so reflections are a problem in some rooms. Get it in the right light, though, and images from the 800 x 480 panel are sharp and clear, and videos run smoothly.

And you can use the 128MB internal storage for MP3s, which will play though the VM830BT’s stereo speakers while you view.

But the 8in award-winning Kodak EasyShare SV811 is cheaper at £64, and the Varnum’s awkward menu system makes it more difficult than the Kodak to set up and use.
