Wifi connections are tricky things. They connect and disconnect seemingly at random. Luckily, there are a few things that you can do to troubleshoot your HTC U11’s WiFi connection.

Take a look at the tips below. Some are a little more involved than others and you may have to try a few before you find a fix.
Power Cycle Router
If you are at home when your connection dies, you can try power cycling your wireless router or modem. If you are not familiar with how to do this, follow the steps below:
Step One – Power Off Router/Modem
First, locate the power button. Hold the button down until the router or modem turns off completely.
Step Two – Power Cycle
When it’s off, unplug the cord from the power source. Keep it unplugged for approximately 30 seconds. Afterward, plug your router or modem back in.
Next, press the power button to turn it on. You will see the lights on the device flash for a few seconds.
Step Three – Reboot (Soft Reset) your HTC U11
Lastly, after the lights on the router or modem become stable, or stop blinking, it’s time to reboot your phone.
To do this, press the Power button on your phone until it shuts off. Wait for approximately 30 seconds and then turn the phone back on. Once the phone is on, hold the Power button and select “Restart” from your options to finish the soft reset.
Toggle WiFi Off and On
Sometimes apps will cause random glitches that may affect your phone’s connectivity.
Step One – Go to Settings
To toggle your WiFi, go to your Settings menu from the Home screen. You can do this by swiping up from your Home screen, or tapping on the Apps icon and going to Settings.
Step Two – Toggle WiFi Switch
Tap the switch for WiFi to turn it off. Wait a few seconds and turn it back on.
Step Three – Check Available Networks
Finally, go to your available networks by tapping on “WiFi.” If you see your network in the list, try to connect again.
“Forget” Wireless Network and Reconnect
This troubleshooting tip is a little more involved, but it’s very effective.
Step One – Forgetting Your Network
First, from your Settings menu, go to “WiFi.” You will see a list of your available networks. Press and hold the wireless network that you want to remove. Pick the “Forget” option when prompted.
Step Two – Reenter Network Info
Next, reboot your HTC U11. Go back to your Settings menu and select “WiFi” again. Select your network from the list and reenter your password if prompted. Tap on “Connect” to try to connect again.
Reset Network Settings
As a last resort, you may want to try resetting your network settings. Do this as a last resort because this process may erase all your network information and custom settings. All information, including passwords, will have to be reentered into your phone.
Step One – Access Network Settings
From your Settings menu, go to “Backup & reset.”
Step Two – Reset Settings
Next, select “Network settings reset” from the “Backup & reset” menu. Tap on “Reset settings,” and then do it again to confirm it.
Your phone will automatically perform a reset and reboot. When it is done, you can try to reconnect to your network.
Final Thoughts
WiFi connectivity issues are relatively common for smartphones, but trying some of these troubleshooting tips could help. As a last resort, you may want to reset your network settings but remember that doing so will erase your previously stored network data.
