If you’re tired of staring at your default wallpaper, why not change it? Switching out your wallpaper is easy on your Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 device. You can customize your Home screen, Lock screen, or both to give your smartphone a little personality.

Change Your Wallpaper
Changing the background image on your Home or Lock screen takes just a few taps in your settings. Read on to learn how to change the look of your phone.
Step 1 – Access the Settings Menu
First, to change your wallpaper, you need to access your phone’s settings. To do this, you may either tap on the Settings icon from the Home screen or swipe down from the top of the screen to open Notifications and tap on the gear icon.
Step 2 – Access Wallpaper
Under Personal, tap on Wallpaper. This will open up all the wallpapers you have available, including:

- Local photos taken by your camera app
- Recently used wallpapers
- Pre-installed wallpapers in different categories
Additionally, tapping on the “Find more” button at the bottom of the screen will send you to Xiaomi’s website where you can download additional wallpapers.
Step 3 – Set Wallpaper
Finally, to set a new wallpaper, tap on your desired category and then the thumbnail. This will give you a preview of the image as a wallpaper. If you want to keep it, tap Apply.

Next, a pop-up menu will prompt you to choose where you want to set your wallpaper:
- Set as Lock screen
- Set as Home screen
- Set both
Change Your Theme
Did you know that you can also change your display theme to give your phone a visual facelift? Changing your theme may affect your wallpaper, icons, and lock options. If you want to try it out, follow the steps below.
Step 1 – Access the Settings Menu
To change your theme, you need to access your Settings menu again. Do this by tapping on the Settings icon from the Home screen or use the down swipe for your Notifications panel and tap on the gear icon.
Step 2 – Access Themes
Next, from the Settings menu, scroll down to the Personal section and tap on Themes. Doing this will open up a new sub-menu showing all your available themes. The Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 has some pre-installed themes already, but you can also download more by scrolling down to “Find more”.

Step 3 – Set a New Theme
Lastly, to set a new theme, tap on your desired thumbnail. If you don’t already have this theme on your phone, you will be redirected to the Xiaomi website to download it.

To set the theme, tap on the Apply option near the bottom of the screen. Changes may take a second or two to apply. When you’re ready to check out your new theme, tap on the Home screen button again to see it applied.
You may change the theme and the wallpaper at the same time. If you do this, your icon theme changes will remain while the new wallpaper will replace the theme’s default wallpaper. This is a good option if you want to mix and match different looks.
