There are many different ways to have fun in Beat Saber on your Oculus Quest 2. You can dodge bombs and slash blocks while grooving to your favorite bass, drums, and other beats. This requires you to play songs, and while the game has a great selection of original tracks, custom tunes take the experience to another level.

How to Get Custom Songs on Beat Saber Oculus Quest 2

Incorporating custom songs on Beat Saber shouldn’t be challenging, but it’s a multi-stage process. The first step is to download the game on your PC, activate developer mode, and enable USB debugging:

Download SideQuest.
Navigate to the Oculus Developer website and enter your login credentials. Use your Oculus or Gmail account.
If you have a Windows PC, go to the driver download page. Install the drivers on your device and allow it to interface over your ADB (Android Debug Bridge). Linus and Mac users can skip this step.
Extract the ZIP file and find the android_winsub.inf file.
Right-click on the file, select the Install option and open the Menu on Oculus Quest on your smartphone.
Go to the Devices section, tap the Developer Mode button, and activate Developer Mode.
Connect Oculus Quest 2 to your PC with your USB cable and put on the headset.
Enable USB debugging by agreeing to the prompt to allow debugging from your computer. This way, the PC can issue commands to the headset.

You should now see a green dot in the upper-left corner of your SideQuest. This means you can proceed but can’t include custom songs on your current version. Only older versions are compatible with custom songs, so you’ll need to downgrade the platform. But before you do so, make sure to back up Beat Saber files:

Tap the nine-square symbol in the top section of your SideQuest screen to access your games.
Press the gear icon near Beat Saber.
Choose the prompt to Force Close App and ensure it’s not running.
Select the BACKUP GAME DATA option.
Back up individual files by clicking the folder symbol in the upper section of your SideQuest window. Press sdcard, followed by Android, data, com.beatgames.beatsaber, and files.
Press Save next to the files that end in .dat. There’s no need to save your .dat.bak items, but you can save settings.cfg to retain your previous settings.
Select the location on your PC where the files will be saved, and you’re good to go.

The next step is to uninstall your Beat Saber. This allows you to downgrade to a previous version:

Open SideQuest and access My Apps by pressing the nine-square icon in the upper part of the display.
Press the gear icon near your Beat Saber and select the Uninstall App option. Wait for the process to finish.
Open your browser and head to the Oculus website. Log into your account and go to this web page to find the 1.17.1 APK. Click the Download APK button. If there’s an error, make sure you’re using Oculus on the same browser as the APK website and that you’re the owner of the game.
Once the APK is downloaded, drag it into your SideQuest logo on your Apps page, where the previous version was uninstalled.
Wait for the installation to finish, which shouldn’t take more than a minute. The platform should notify you when the process is over.

Lastly, you can install and use BMBF, a platform that lets you include custom songs to Beat Saber:

Open SideQuest and type in BMBF in the search box.
Go to the BMBF page and press the Download App button. This will install the platform onto your device.
Once the installation is complete, unplug the headset, put it back on, and press your Oculus button to pull up your navigation menu.
Select the nine-square icon in the right section of the screen and expand the dropdown menu in the upper-right corner. It should say All, but you want to change the name to Unknown Sources.
BMBF should now appear on the list. Open the platform, and follow the instructions to finalize the process.
Open BMBF and go to the primary playlist screen. If it’s not responding, close your BMBF by hitting the X button in the lower-left part of the display and reopening it.
Hover the tabs in the top section of BMBF.
Go to Browser and open the BeastSaber window, which holds a bunch of custom tracks you can download.
Search for your song or browse it in the recommended list and select the Download icon to include it in your install list.
Select Sync to Beat Saber in the upper-right section to incorporate the tracks into your game. You need to do this whenever you add a new song. Otherwise, you won’t see them in Beat Saber.

If you want to add your songs from elsewhere (and not your headset), go to your SyncSaber tab. It allows you to synchronize tracks bookmarked on the BeastSaber web page once you’ve created an account. Type in your username to pull up your bookmarked content. Plus, you can sync trending songs, artists, and much more. Just make sure to sync the profile after each change to import the songs successfully. If you want to try the new tracks, go back to your Playlist tab. Make a new playlist and sort the songs manually or with third-party solutions, like Playlist Editor Pro.

How to Get Custom Songs on Beat Saber Oculus Quest 2 Without Computer

The above guide mostly relies on your PC. However, you may want to try another method – using your smartphone. You’ll first need to connect Oculus Quest 2 to your smartphone:

Go to Settings on your phone and navigate to the information section. Depending on your device’s device, find the Android version or serial number screen and tap repeatedly.
The system should ask you if you wish to enable developer mode on the smartphone. Tap the Yes button, and you can now access your developer options.
Find the Additional Settings and choose Developer Options. (This step may vary by phone)
Find and activate the USB Debugging feature. The wording may vary, but most systems have these designations.
Create your Oculus developer account on this website and download the companion app to your device.
Log in to the companion platform with the developer account and turn on the Quest headset.
Select the Devices option in the lower section and choose Developer Mode. Toggle it on.
Open Play Store and install BugJaeger. This platform lets you connect to various devices with your smartphone using Wi-Fi or USB OTG and perform all sorts of tasks that otherwise require a privileged account.
Link your Oculus Quest 2 to your smartphone.

From there, install BMBF and find custom songs with BeatSaber.

Download the latest version of BMBF from the official website, uninstall Beat Saber, and open BugJaeger.
Press the + symbol in the upper-right corner.
Choose the select apk file option and use the APK downloaded from this web page. Wait for the program to complete the installation.
Install BMBF by opening your BugJaeger and following the same steps you used to downgrade your Beat Saber.
Click the + icon in the upper-right part of the display and pick the select apk file prompt.
Look for the following file: com.weloveoculus.BMBF.apk in your download folder. Tap it and wait for the system to install the file before disconnecting your smartphone from the viewer.
Go to the library in your Oculus Quest 2 and look for your BMBF. If it doesn’t show up, press filters in the upper-right corner and choose Unknown Origins.
Select BFBM and press the Continue button. Let the platform uninstall Beat Saber and update it with appropriate patches.
Once the files are ready, reinstall Beat Saber by pressing install. The platform should now ask whether you wish to restore the app. Tap Yes and close the screen.
Open the BeastSaber website and find the custom song you want to include in your game. Download it and sync it to your account to save your changes.

How to Get Custom Songs on Beat Saber Oculus Quest 2 Without BMBF

Unfortunately, you can’t get custom songs on Beat Saber without BMBF. Currently, it’s the only way to incorporate custom tracks.
