How To View Your Watch History on Hulu

Hulu is easily one of the top streaming platforms, even though it doesn’t have the same global presence as Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, or Disney+. But its great selection of shows has garnered a loyal fan base.

How To View Your Watch History on Hulu

Hulu doesn’t necessarily make things easy for its users, whether you’re talking about the browser version, mobile app, or smart TV app. Even something as simple as checking the history of previously watched shows can be trickier than you might expect compared to competitor platforms.

How to Check Your Watch History in Hulu on a PC

The quickest way to check your Hulu watch history from a desktop PC or a laptop is from the Hulu home page.

  1. Log into your Hulu.com account.
  2. Scroll down until you get to the “Keep Watching” section.
  3. Click on the right arrow to go through your list.

Note that only shows you’ve watched but haven’t completed appear in this list. To access your entire watch history on Hulu, you must send a ticket or submit a request.

Here are the steps.

  1. Go to the “Accounts” section.
  2. Click the “California Privacy Rights” option.
  3. Click the “Request Report” button.
  4. Follow the on-screen instructions.
  5. Submit the request.

The process isn’t streamlined or intuitive, and many users argue that it makes users jump through hoops to get more detailed information about their watch history.

However, you must go through it if you want your lifetime watch history that includes shows no longer appearing in the “Keep Watching” section.

The full list will contain additional information, like timestamps, to help you get a better sense of your Hulu binging habits.

How to Check Your Watch History in Hulu on a Mobile Device

There isn’t a big difference between using Hulu in the browser or the mobile app. The process is fairly simple if you want to see a list of movies and TV series watched.

  1. Log into your Hulu account.
  2. Go to “My Stuff.”
  3. Select “TV Shows” or “Movies.”

This will bring up shows you’re currently watching and tell you how many episodes are unwatched, as well as when the next one airs.

If you want to eliminate one of these shows, you can tap once on the three-dot icon on the thumbnail and deselect the show from “My Stuff.”

An alternative way to see your history is from the Home tab.

  1. Go to “Home.”
  2. Swipe up to scroll down until you see “Keep Watching.”
  3. Swipe right to move through the list.

If you want to see a more detailed list, or you can’t swipe right and left, you can tap the View All button above the thumbnails. This action will bring up the entire Keep Watching history.

Again, this won’t give you an overview of your lifetime activity. The only way to get that is by submitting a request.

How to Check Your Watch History in Hulu on a Firestick

If you’re using the Hulu app on your Amazon Fire TV or Firestick, the interface can seem different than the regular browser or mobile device versions of Hulu.

Checking the history is very easy.

  1. Launch the Hulu app on your TV.
  2. Navigate to the “Keep Watching” tab under the main toolbar.
  3. Browse the list and make your desired modifications.

Every Hulu list and tab is easier to access on a TV, as they’re all listed on the main page. You can even go to the Unwatched in My Stuff tab to see what movies and shows you’ve queued but haven’t watched.

How to Check Your Watch History in Hulu on a Roku Device

Going through the watch history on Hulu on a Roku device isn’t any different than doing it on another smart TV.

  1. Launch the Hulu app on your Roku device.
  2. Go to the “Home” tab.
  3. Navigate to “Keep Watching” under the toolbar menu.

This will show a list of movies and shows you’ve been watching and haven’t finished. To find a list of all your previously watched shows, you’ll need to submit a request to Hulu for the information.

How to Delete Your Watch History in Hulu

Never mind the fact that Hulu sometimes makes the watch history disappear for no apparent reason. If you want to clear the history manually, you can do it by following a few simple steps.

It’s actually easier to delete that information than to get it from Hulu after submitting a request.

  1. Log into your Hulu account.
  2. Go to “Accounts.”
  3. Go to “California Privacy Rights.”
  4. Select “Watch History” in the “Manage Activity” section.
  5. Hit the “Clear Selected” button.

Why would you want to use this method? Normally, Hulu only lets users remove shows from the Keep Watching list one by one. This slow process doesn’t delete data from the lifetime account watch history.

Clearing the history will do a full, account-wide wipe and delete all accumulated data from all profiles. It restores the account to a brand-new state with no preferences and all-over-the-place recommendations.

The good news is that this is an account-specific option, meaning it’s available in every Hulu variant, whether it’s the browser, mobile, or smart TV app interface.

Hulu Has a Long Way to Go

On the surface, the Hulu platform looks like a carbon copy of any other streaming service. But as you dig a little deeper, you may find annoying details, like missing or incomplete features, and a long list of hoops to jump through before you can get something done.

Finding the recent watch history is straightforward on any device. But getting a full rundown on your entire watch history and deleting that data from your account is a work in progress.
