The Amazon Fire Tablet is one of the most widely used tablets nowadays. There are many variants, and they come with different internal storage capacities, anywhere from 8GB to 64GB.

How to Delete Videos on the Amazon Fire Tablet

If you opt for the one with smaller storage, you might fill it up pretty quickly. Your best option in such a case is to start deleting videos because they tend to be on the larger side, especially those in HD. But how exactly do you do that?

Steps to Delete Videos from the Fire Tablet

If you’re reluctant to part with movies and TV shows you downloaded from Amazon, then it’s best to start deleting videos from your device’s gallery. If you recorded a lot of videos with your Fire Tablet, that’s probably the reason why you’re low on storage. So, once you decide which videos you want to remove from the gallery, just follow these steps:

Go to “Apps.”
Then select “Local,” followed by “Gallery.”
Tap on the video you want to delete. The “Delete” button will be at the bottom of the screen. Scroll down and tap on it.

Repeat this process for every video you want to delete.

That’s a straightforward way to free up some space on your Fire Tablet. If you’re not ready to part ways with some of your videos and you need the extra storage space, you can always upload videos to your computer.

You can connect the Fire Tablet to the computer via the USB cable, and create a folder for all the videos. Once you have them securely backed up, go back and delete them from the tablet.

Deleting Downloaded Movies and TV Shows

Having your Fire Tablet stacked up with fun movies and TV shows can be incredibly practical when you’re traveling or when you want to get comfortable at home. But regardless of the available storage space, the gigabytes add up, and you might need to remove a few titles to make room for the next ones. Here is how you do that:

Tap on “Video” on the Homepage of your Fire Tablet.
Now tap on “Library” (top right corner).
Tap on “Device” and then press and hold on the video you want to delete.
If it’s a TV show, you will see the list of episodes. Select an episode you want to remove.
Tap on the “Delete Download” option.

Deleting Apps & Games

In case the “Critically Low Storage” message is still popping up on your screen, it’s probably a good idea to check the situation right away. On the error message, you can tap on “Manage Storage” and assess the situation. You will be able to see the list of items on your tablet and how much space each of them takes up.

Sometimes, apps and games consume most of the storage. When you identify the biggest ones and those that you don’t use, it’s time to delete them. Press and hold the app that you’ve decided to delete and then select “Uninstall.”

You can go one by one, or you can delete them in bulk. To delete multiple apps at once, go to Settings>Storage>Apps and Games. Now scroll through the list and select “Uninstall” next to each one you want to remove. You can also try to re-arrange apps and games between internal storage and SD card to avoid removing too many apps.

1-Tap Archive

In case you can’t delete any apps or games that you’ve purchased, there is a solution. Amazon allows you to archive the purchased items via the 1-Tap Archive feature. Your Fire Tablet will upload them to the cloud, while simultaneously removing them from the storage. When you’re ready to use the app or game again, you can download it back to your Fire Tablet, and it won’t cost you anything.

It’s so easy to accumulate things on your mobile devices, especially if you start with little storage. The upside is that you can backup and archive every video, movie, app, and game. You don’t have to lose anything.
