How To Share a TikTok Video to Facebook

If you’re a social media user, you likely have a Facebook and TikTok account. While some users have yet to venture outside the Meta lineup, there is much to see on TikTok. Whether you’re trying to grow your TikTok followers or you want to share your favorite videos with your friends on Facebook, TikTok makes it relatively simple to share content on most platforms.

How To Share a TikTok Video to Facebook

This article will teach you everything you need to know about cross-posting videos on TikTok and Facebook.

How to Share a TikTok Video on Facebook

TikTok, like most social media platforms, encourages users to share their posts on other sites. You can share videos you created or someone else’s content (assuming their privacy settings allow it).

Here’s how to share a TikTok video to Facebook:

  1. Locate the video you want to share.
    • You can locate your video by tapping the profile icon in the lower right-hand corner. Then, tap on the video you’d like to share.
    • If you want to share someone else’s video, you can find it on their profile. You can also find videos you’ve liked on your profile.
  2. If you’re sharing your own video, you will see three horizontal dots to share. You will see an arrow icon if it’s another user’s video. Tap the corresponding icon to the right of the video.
  3. Tap on Facebook to share the video on Facebook.
  4. Log into your Facebook account if necessary.
  5. After logging in, the TikTok video will be shared on your feed.

When Facebook opens, you can add a caption, limit the audience, etc. Then, tap Post in the upper right corner.

When using this method to upload videos to Facebook, the post will appear as a clickable link rather than a standard video that auto-plays. If you prefer to share your video, so your friends don’t have to tap on it, you can save it to your device and reupload it.

In the following sections, we will show you other ways to share TikTok videos on Facebook.

How to Save and Share TikTok Videos to Facebook

As long as the original creator has relaxed privacy settings, you can save and then upload a TikTok video on Facebook. We like this method because the video won’t appear as a clickable link. It saves your friends time, and you’ll likely get more views this way.

To save a video in TikTok:

  1. Launch the Tik Tok app from your preferred mobile device.
  2. Locate the video that you want to save.
  3. Click the Share button located on the right side menu.
  4. Choose Save Video, which can be found at the bottom of the screen.
    • This will save the video automatically to your phone’s local storage.
    • The video will be saved with both the Tik Tok logo watermark and the user ID of the original creator.

Saving TikTok on iOS & Android Without A Watermark

For this method, you’ll need to download and install a third-party app to your device. You’ll be saving the video through the use of a screen recording program called ApowerREC. This app will allow you to save recorded video and bypass the automatic addition of a watermark and user ID being slapped onto the video.

After downloading the ApowerREC app to your mobile device, launch it and then:

  1. Locate Settings in the menu at the bottom of the screen and tap it.
  2. Turn on both Recording overlay and Screenshot Overlay options.
    • This will enable us to use the shortcut menu in order to manage the recording and allow a screenshot of the Tik Tok video.
  3. Choose Portrait so that the recording will be recorded properly.
    • Tik Tok is in a vertical “portrait” style by default.
  4. While recording the Tik Tok video, click the Camera icon whenever you want to take a screenshot.
    • Tap the Overlay icon to expand the recording menu to see the different options you can use.
    • This menu will pull up icons for Stop, Pause, Hide Menu, or add Image.
  5. Once the recording is complete, the recorded video can be found in ApowerREC.
    • You can preview or share it directly within the app to any other social media outlet you choose.

Saving TikTok on PC

Technically, you could use the same app, ApowerREC, for both mobile devices and PC. However, PC affords us a better option than an app for screen recordings to use for saving TikTok videos. There’s a site called Musically Down that works as a music video downloader which just so happens to be exactly what TikTok videos are considered as.

To use Musically Down to download TikTok videos to your PC hard drive:

  1. Head on over to the website using your preferred browser.
  2. With TikTok opened, locate the video you want to save and copy that video’s URL.
  3. Pull up a new tab in your browser and paste the URL, which will be in the short version, into the address bar. Click Enter.
    • Doing this will change the shortened URL that TikTok provides into a full-length URL for use with Musically Down.
  4. Copy the new, lengthier URL and paste the link into Musically Down’s URL blank.
  5. Finalize by clicking the Download button.

Now that you’ve saved the video where you’d like, feel free to upload it to Facebook as you’d like. Fortunately, TikTok does provide the option to upload a video to Facebook right from the app.

Share TikTok Profile To Facebook

For those looking to share their entire TikTok profile to a Facebook page, either you or a friend’s, well then you’re in luck. This is a better option if you want to share your full TikTok video library with someone rather than a single video.

To do this:

  1. Launch TikTok on your Phone.
  2. Tap on your Profile icon. This is the person silhouette icon located at the bottom-right corner of the screen. This will pull up a list of your videos.
  3. Next, tap on the three dotted icon at the top-right corner of your profile.
    • If preferred, you can use the sharing option that is near the bottom-right corner of any of the videos on your list.
  4. Tap on Share Profile.
  5. Select a sharing method for your profile by choosing either email, messaging, or one of the social media apps on the list. For our purpose, you’ll want to choose Facebook.
  6. Once you choose your sharing method, a new message or post will open up in the selected app.
    • If prompted to, log in to your Facebook account.
  7. Your TikTok profile should appear in a post on your Facebook wall.

Anyone who currently has a TikTok account can tap Follow on the post and begin following your TikTok profile. From here they’ll be able to see every new TikTok video you post.

Frequently Asked Questions

Here are the answers to more questions you may have about TikTok and Facebook.

Can I link my Facebook page to my TikTok profile?

In the traditional sense, no. You can only link your Instagram or YouTube channel to TikTok. But, you can add a Link Tree to your profile with a link to your Facebook page.

When you share a video from TikTok to Facebook, all you need to do is sign in and authorize the two apps to communicate with each other.

I don’t see an option to download or share another person’s video. What’s going on?

Some users choose to limit sharing features on their videos. If you don’t see the option to share, it’s likely due to their privacy settings. If you find a video you’d really like to send to someone, it’s best to comment and ask them to make it shareable before screen recording and sharing. Most creators are happy to oblige.
