How To Fix Error Code PILUM

Error code PILUM is an error CoD Modern Warfare and Warzone players may report seeing when they download additional content packs. The game doesn’t recognize the packs and shows this error as a result. Most cases occur on Xbox, and may make it somewhat confusing to address.

Fortunately, the gaming community tends to figure out solutions quickly. You can try several fixes and see if the problem goes away. Read on for all the details.

How to Fix Error Code PILUM in CoD

When you download the game and attempt to launch it, you might be told the system is lacking a few content packs. This is a regular occurrence. What isn’t normal is trying to get them and then receiving an error message.

The strange thing is that error code PILUM isn’t included in Activision’s list of known issues. The packs are causing the problem, and now you must resolve it.

There are three possible reasons for error code PILUM to occur.

A glitch in the console
Inconsistent network information
Corrupted console caches and data

Since these are addressable, you only have to try some of these fixes. None of them are guaranteed to clear the error. However, community members have found them to be helpful.

Restart Your Xbox

Sometimes restarting your Xbox all there is to fixing error code PILUM and potentially other glitches. Press the Xbox button and select the restart option. After your console reboots, try again and see if the code still appears.

Manually Install the Multiplayer Pack

When you play CoD Modern Warfare, you need to download the multiplayer pack to play with other players. It might be corrupted and will need to be replaced with functional files.

In “Set Up Wireless Network,” pick “Go Offline.”

Press X to bring up what the console suggests users delete.
Scroll down and look for any content that has a yellow exclamation mark.
Delete the content.

Here, you’ll be downloading the packs again.

Head to “Account” this time.
Pick “Payment & billing.”
Select “Order History”.
Choose the pack you couldn’t download before.
Download the content again.

Download the Multiplayer Pack Using a Different Method

This alternative method may be the key to fixing the error. You’re using the Microsoft Store for this process.

Go to the Microsoft Store on your Xbox.
Look for the Multiplayer Pack.
Look for the listing that has the game’s cover art.
Select the option to install it.
Accept and install the multiplayer pack.
Try and play CoD Modern Warfare.

Clear the MAC Address

To address any inconsistent net data, try clearing the MAC address. It’s known to help resolve error code PILUM.

Press the Guide button.
Go to the “Settings” menu.

Fixing the Error in Warzone is the Same

All the solutions above will work for Warzone because the two titles are part of the same game. As such, try each solution until you succeed.

Hopefully, Activision will address this error and remove it from the game’s files. Getting everything working can be challenging, especially when factory resets are involved.
