There are several ways you can add multiple pictures to your Instagram Story, whether you post them one at a time or all at once. While you can use various photo editing apps to make collages, Instagram has a built-in feature within the Story sticker menu to let you do just that. With this feature, you can add as many pictures to your Instagram Story as you like.

How to Add Multiple Photos in a Single Instagram Story on an iPhone

While you have the option to post multiple pictures as separate Stories at once, you can also fit them in one Story. This new feature is hidden in the Stories sticker section, so there’s a chance you might not even have been aware of it. It’s called the photo sticker, and if you don’t have it, check if you’re using Instagram’s newest update.

Before you add one or more photos to your Instagram Story, decide what you’ll use for your background. There are plenty of things you can use as your background. It depends on how creative you want to be, and what type of Story you want to post.

For example, you can either take a picture of something, post a photo from your iPhone’s gallery, or choose a color for your background. If you’re planning on adding multiple photos, and you want a plain background, this is what you can do:

Open the app on your iPhone.
Tap on the “Your Story” sticker in the upper-left corner of the screen or swipe the screen to the right side.
Take a random picture.
Tap on the drawing icon (wriggly line) in the upper-right corner of your screen. It’s the second icon from the left.
Pick a color for your background from the color palette at the bottom of the screen.
Press the screen until the entire background is colored in the shade you chose.
Select “Done” in the upper-right corner.

Now that you have your background, it’s time to add multiple photos to your Instagram Story. To see how it’s done on an iPhone, follow the steps below:

Go to the “Sticker” icon on the top menu.
Locate the “Photo” feature on the pop-up menu. The last photo from your gallery will be displayed.
Find the picture you want to add and tap on it.
Use your fingers to adjust its size and position.
Tap on the photo to change its shape. You can choose between a circle, star, square, rectangle, and heart.
Return to the “Sticker” icon and tap on the “Photo” tool.
Pick another photo and upload it.
Repeat the same steps for every photo you add.
When you’re done, tap on the “Your Story” bubble in the bottom-left corner of your screen.

You can technically add as many pictures as you want. Just be sure to position them in a way that makes them all visible.

How to Add Multiple Photos to a Single Instagram Story on an Android Device

Android devices also have this feature, although it wasn’t available until recently. To add multiple photos to a single Instagram Story, Android users had to download third-party apps to make collages or grids. But with the Photo feature, this makes it much easier.

To add multiple photos to a single Instagram Story, follow the steps below:

Open Instagram on your Android device.
Go to “Your Story” in the upper-right corner of your screen.
Take a photo, upload one, or choose a color for your background.
Tap the “Sticker” icon at the top of your screen.
Go down and select the “Photo” tool.
Choose the photo you want to add to your Story.
Tap on it to change its shape.
Change its position by holding it and dragging it across the screen.
Pinch the photo to make it larger or smaller.
Repeat the same steps for any other photo you want to add.
When you’re done, tap on the “Your Story” bubble in the bottom-left corner of your screen.

There is another way to add multiple photos to an Instagram Story, and that’s with the Layout tool. However, if you want to use this feature, the photos you use must be taken at that moment. Here’s how it’s done:

Launch Instagram and open your Story window.
Tap on the downward arrow on the left toolbar.
Select “Layout.”
To choose the layout pattern, go to the “Change Grid” option. You can choose one of six different grid patterns.
Take a photo for each section.
Tap on the check at the bottom of the screen.
Go to “Your Story” in the bottom-left corner of your screen to post your Story.

If you don’t like one of the photos, tap on it and select the trash can icon to delete it. Then you can take another photo to replace it. You can also use Instagram filters while you’re taking the photos. What’s more, you can choose a different filter for each photo.

How to Add Multiple Photos to a Single Instagram Story on a PC

Instagram doesn’t support posting from a PC natively. However, there is a workaround you can use. It might seem complicated at first glance, but as long as you follow the steps below, it’s actually quite simple:

In Chrome, click on the three dots in the upper-right corner of your screen.
Select “More Tools” from the drop-down menu.
Choose “Developer Tools” from the list of options. The “Developer” window will appear on the right side of your screen.
Click on the mobile icon on the top toolbar. It’s on the left side of the “Elements” tab.
Select the “Dimensions: Responsive” tab on the upper-left side.
Pick a mobile interface you want to use (for example, iPhone X).
Refresh the page.

Now your PC’s screen will have the same interface as your mobile phone. Unfortunately, this workaround will only let you add one picture to your Instagram Story at a time. You can’t upload multiple pictures. To add a photo to your Instagram Story on a PC, follow the steps below:
Go to Instagram on your browser.
Click on “Your Story” in the upper-left corner.
Instagram will recommend using the app at this point. To skip this part, simply choose “Not Now” on the pop-up message.
Find the picture that you want to post on your PC and select “Open.”
Make any necessary changes to your Instagram Story.
Click on “Your Story” to post it.

With Instagram Story’s newest feature, you can add as many photos as you want to a single Story. Not only does this save you more time by not having to post five separate Stories at once, but it also lets you be creative with your photos.
