Knowing how to level up quickly in Raid: Shadow Legends not only saves you time but can also help you avoid wasting precious resources. Having different champions for various game modes is essential for progression, but you need to do that in the most efficient way possible.
Read on to find out the best methods for leveling up champions and stars, as well as your account.
How to Level Up Fast in Raid: Shadow Legends?
Let’s talk about getting your champions to max rank first. A max-ranked champion will have an easier time handling more formidable enemies. However, you also need lower-star champions as “food” for higher-star ones, and these also have to be leveled up.
How to Level Up Champions in Raid: Shadow Legends
Here’s how to get your champions to max rank quickly:
Playing the Campaign
The main campaign is everyone’s first method for leveling up their champions. You can play the story in Normal, Hard, and Brutal mode. As their names suggest, each of them is tougher than the last. The higher the difficulty, the more XP you get.
For beginners, the best way to level up is to play through the entire campaign once. After completing the campaign, you can still replay the missions. All campaign missions give some XP, but some reward much more than others.
The campaign consists of 12 chapters. Each chapter has seven stages that you must beat before moving on to the next chapter. For all chapters, Stage 6 is the one you want to farm.
Many players believe that Stage 6 is the best XP farming stage, especially in Chapter 12. Every chapter has a boss fight at the end, but Stage 6 is much more efficient if you’re looking for pure XP farming.
Playing the campaign is also a great way to earn Silver, as you’ll need to upgrade your gear. If you want both XP and Silver, Chapter 12 Stage Three is an excellent mission to play. Stage Three for all chapters drop shields, and out of all Artifacts, shields sell for the most Silver.
Between these two stages, you’ll find yourself maxing out champions rapidly after lots of grinding. Make sure you have enough stamina before you start XP farming, though.
The lineup you bring into the campaign is also important. We recommend fielding one main champion that’s already maxed out, and the other three should be “food” champions you’ll later sacrifice for your primary team.
You get four champions in a team for the game. Each of them gets 25% of the total XP in a battle. While your main champion won’t get any more XP because of their maxed-out level, the other three will gain 25% each.
One main champion and three food champions will be the most efficient method for leveling any champions quickly.
All characters gain XP even if they die in the middle of the battle, so you can let your main character handle all the fighting if needed. Also, your main character can clear the stage on auto-mode to save some time.
In addition, the campaign rewards you with Mystery Shards, and you use these to roll for more champions. You might get a good champion with your roll, but usually, they’re just another food source.
Playing in the Minotaur’s Labyrinth
The Minotaur’s Labyrinth is the Dungeon where you can get Mastery Scrolls. These Scrolls help boost your champions’ combat prowess. As a bonus, the Minotaur’s Labyrinth is also an excellent place to farm for XP.
It takes a lot of energy to farm Master Scrolls, but you get more out of your energy by using the opportunity also to level up your champions. With the XP available in the Minotaur’s Labyrinth, you can get to Level 45 if you’re lucky, but most characters get to Level 40.
Getting to Level 40 may not seem like much, but it’s further than you’d get by just playing the campaign alone. The downside is that beginners don’t have access to this place immediately upon starting the game.
Playing in the Dragon’s Lair
Playing the Dragon’s Lair Stage 20 is a great way to get gear upgrades. If you have an auto clicker, you can even do this overnight. Having Bad-el-Kazar also makes the process easier. By the time you wake up, your champions will earn plenty of XP.
How to Level Up Stars in Raid: Shadow Legends
Having enough food champions is crucial if you want to make your primary team higher-star champions. In this process, you use these lower-star characters as the major champions’ food.
First, you’ll need enough food champions to go around. If you’ve been farming the campaign for a while, chances are you’ll have plenty of food champions to level up; typically, they’re three-star characters and below.
Once you have enough of them, go to the campaign missions and max them out. If you want to get a character into five stars, you have to sacrifice three four-star characters. The same goes for lower star champions as well.
For example, if you don’t have three-star characters, three fully-leveled-up two-star champions can help another two-star champion climb up and fill the gap.
Helping champions get stars consists of feeding lower-leveled champions to higher-leveled ones. Eventually, with some farming and grinding, you’ll end up with a five-star champion.
To level any champion to a higher star ranking, follow these steps:
- Farm and max out your food champions.
- Go to the Tavern.
- Select the “Upgrade Level” tab.
- Choose any food champions with the same number of stars as the one you want to upgrade ranks.
- Spend Silver to upgrade the champion.
- The champion will consume your food champions and go back to Level One.
- Repeat as necessary.
Alternatively, you can use Chickens as well. These Chickens are rewards from challenges and activities. You can also buy them in the Shop.
Chickens can replace a champion during the upgrade process, and a mix of both is still a valid form of upgrading.
The higher the target Rank, the more champions or Chickens you need. To upgrade a two-star character to three stars, you need two of the former or two chickens. Mixing is allowed, as we mentioned above.
Currently, the limit for all champions is six stars, or level 60. To get a character to six stars, you need five Rank Five champions or chickens. After this, you won’t be able to upgrade their rank further.
How to Level Up Your Account in Raid: Shadow Legends
Besides farming for champion XP, your account also needs leveling up. There are many benefits to having a high-level account, including:
· Higher Energy Capacity
A higher capacity allows you to generate more energy. While you always get energy from playing missions, quests, and earning rewards, you can’t go beyond your current maximum capacity.
Having more than you can handle can be wasteful. That’s why getting your account to Level 60 is essential. At Level 60, you get the maximum energy capacity in the game, and you receive an increase in capacity after that. There will be other rewards, though.
· Access to More Content and Game Modes
Some of the content in the game is locked behind a level gate. Higher-level content allows you to get more XP and essential items to becoming a better player.
Grinding the campaign can only be efficient for so long. That’s why getting access to Dungeons and the Minotaur’s Labyrinth should be a priority. It would be best if you had the rewards from these places to strengthen your team.
· More Rewards
Every time you level your account up, you get rewards including Gems, Sacred Shards, and energy that’s equal to your current capacity. Shards are for players to roll for more champions, and getting any is always welcome.
Playing through the campaign and farming your champions also levels your account up. While it’s essential to get to Level 60, take your time and focus on your champions, too, and you’ll reach your account level goal naturally.
Finally, a Six-Star Champion
Playing hard isn’t as effective as playing smart, though doing both will help you in Raid: Shadow Legends. These methods should arm you with the knowledge to level any champions quickly. The more you progress, the easier it is to max champions out.
