How To Remove Shows From Continue Watching in Peacock TV

Peacock TV remembers how far you’ve come with a TV show or movie and allows you to pick up where you left off. This feature is called “Continue Watching” and saves you from having to scroll through the content to find the last scene you’ve watched.

How To Remove Shows From Continue Watching in Peacock TV

While the option is usually convenient, in some cases, you may want to remove certain content from the list. For example, if you’ve stopped watching a TV show or don’t like a particular movie. Unfortunately, there’s only one way to remove a show or movie from your Recently Watched list on Peacock, no matter your device.

Yes, we know that many websites state you can click the vertical ellipsis upon highlighting a Continue Watching entry, but that option is gone.

The reason is that Peacock makes it difficult to remove Continue Watching entries because they don’t offer an on/off option, plus, they challenge you to beat their chosen “Up Next” movie or show.

Here’s the correct and only way to delete items from your Continue Watching list at the time of writing.

How To Remove Shows and Movies From Continue Watching in Peacock on a PC

Many people use Peacock on their computers. If you’re one of them and want to remove a TV show or movie from the Continue Watching list, it is pretty challenging to achieve but still possible.

  1. Launch Peacock TV on your computer browser.
  2. Select the Featured category. This is currently the only location to include Continue Watching on a PC browser.
  3. Browse Continue Watching to search for the content you wish to remove. Click on the show or movie.
  4. For movies, resume playing the film and fast forward to the last minute, then let it play until it finishes, but DON’T let it launch the “Up Next” movie, or it will appear in Continue Watching.
  5. Click on Pause, then click on the X in the top left corner to close the movie and return to the browsing screen. The item disappears from your Continue Watching list.
  6. For TV shows and similar content with episodes, resume playing back the last-played episode, then click on the Pause button.
  7. Select the More episodes link in the bottom right section and pick the latest episode of the most recent season.
  8. Fast forward through the most recent episode until you reach the last minute or so, then let it play to the end, but DON’T let it launch the “Up Next” TV show, or it will appear in Continue Watching.

If you successfully beat the clock on the “Up Next” game, your last watched TV show or movie gets deleted from the Continue Watching queue. If you miss it, then whatever Peacock chose to play next becomes a lovely new entry in your Continue Watching list. Game on, and good luck!

How to Remove Shows and Movies From Continue Watching in Peacock on a Firestick

Removing videos from your Peacock Continue Watching list using a Fire TV Stick or Cube is the same as it is for a browser. Your only option is to skip and play the end. Here’s how to do it.

  1. Find the movie and fast-forward to the last minute or so.
  2. Let the last minute or two of the movie play through, but DON’T let Peacock start playing the “Up Next” content, or it will get stored in your Continue Watching queue. When the movie is finished, it gets removed from Continue Watching.

You can use the same steps to remove a TV show, but ensure you play the last episode of the last season issued. Keep in mind that these steps won’t work for ongoing TV shows. Every time a new episode comes out, the content will return to the Continue Watching section.

How to Remove Shows and Movies From Continue Watching in Peacock on a Roku

If you watch Peacock content on your Roku, you’ll be happy to know there’s a way to remove shows and movies from the Continue Watching queue. Follow the instructions below:

  1. Launch Peacock on your Roku and find the movie you want to remove.
  2. Fast-forward to the last minute or so, and let the movie play to the end. Of course, DON’T let the “Up Next” queue start to play, or it will get stored in the Continue Watching bin.

Once the movie is finished, Peacock will think you watched the whole thing and remove it from the Continue Watching queue. The same goes for TV shows, but remember to go to the last episode of the last season. Otherwise, the steps won’t work.

Remove Peacock Shows and Movies From Continue Watching on iPhone/iOS

Many people like watching Peacock content on their iPhones. Although the screen is smaller, it’s hard to beat the convenience of having your favorite TV shows and movies everywhere you go. However, playing the “skip-to-the-end” game can be challenging, especially on smaller iPhones. The process also works for iPads. If you wish to remove a title from the Continue Watching section, here’s what you should do.

  1. Open the Peacock app on your iPhone or another iOS device.
  2. Tap Featured if not already selected. This category is the ONLY one to include the Continue Watching section.
  3. Navigate to the Continue Watching section, then press the title you want to remove.
  4. Tap Play, then Pause.
  5. Fast-forward to the last minute of the movie and let it play through, but DON’T let it start the “Up Next” movie, or it will get stored in Continue Watching.
  6. For TV Shows and other content with episodes, select the TV show from the Continue Watching list, then tap on the More Episodes link and select the most recent episode of the latest season.
  7. Fast-forward to the last minute or so of the episode and let it play to the end, but DON’T let Peacock launch the “Up Next” show/series, or it will get stored in Continue Watching.

As soon as the movie or TV show finishes playing, Peacock removes it from the Continue Watching queue.

Remove Peacock Shows and Movies From Continue Watching on an Android

Many people enjoy watching Peacock content on their Android devices. If you’re one of them and want to remove certain content from the Continue Watching section, follow these steps:

  1. Launch the Peacock app on your Android device.
  2. Go to the Featured section.
  3. Find the TV show or movie you want to remove from the Continue Watching section. If it’s a TV show, ensure you select the last episode of the last/latest season.
  4. Move the progress bar towards the end and let the last minute or two play.

This will trick Peacock into thinking you’ve watched the content. The app will remove the title from Continue Watching automatically.

How to Remove Shows and Movies From Continue Watching in Peacock on an iPad

iPads are excellent for streaming content on Peacock; they are convenient, portable, and have a larger screen than phones. If you want to stop watching certain content, here’s how to remove it from Continue Watching:

  1. Open the Peacock app on your iPad and select Featured. This is the ONLY category that includes the Continue Watching section.
  2. Locate the Continue Watching queue and press and hold the movie or TV show you wish to remove.
  3. Locate and select the “TV show” or movie you want to remove. For shows, tap the “More Episodes” button and go to the most recent season and episode. Then fast-forward to the last minute or so.
  4. Play the last minute of the show, but DON’T let Peacock launch the “Up Next” show, or it will add it to the Continue Watching queue.

This method only works for completed series and movies. The title will return to the queue if new episodes are still coming out.

Overall, the Continue Watching option on Peacock allows you to pause TV shows and movies and pick up where you left off whenever you want. However, seeing it in the Continue Watching queue can become annoying if you decide not to watch certain content anymore. Of course, if Peacock launches the “Up Next” movie or TV show, and you don’t like what it picked, you’re stuck with it in Continue Playing unless you play the “fast-forward” game.

At one time, Peacock offered a removal option but has since removed it. Therefore, don’t waste time on other websites finding a different solution cause it won’t work! However, if you do notice a change, feel free to tell us, and we’ll update the content.

Trudi Pruitt says:
Good luck getting the timing right between end of the shows you want to remove from Continue Watching and the start of the next show they have chosen for you to watch. There is a tiny moment before credits as it fades to black, and you have to get it just right. Or it will move onto next unchosen shows, or re-start the current series over. It is also difficult to get to the Episodes section so you can go to the final season final show. There should definitely be a REMOVE SERIES or REMOVE SHOW button! Especially since Peacock is picking shows for us that we have no interest in. You can waste a lot of time trying to finesse this “system”.

Peacock has the worst app design. Continue watching keeps showing me the next episode. Peacock’s presentation of WWE content absolutely sucks. You can’t jump to the match you want. You can’t see what is on what PPV or show. It is terrible.
Casey says:
You’re amazing thank you so much! I should have thought of this on my own. So simple and genus! I used the remove tv show from my Mac/PC. Super easy to do. Highly suggest doing that for others.
Keyla says:
I tried these methods, but they did not work for me on my MacBook Pro. However, I found a better way similar to the workaround mentioned above. Fast forward the episode to the end, and wait for the Up Next window, hover over it, click ‘Cancel’ button, then close the window clicking the X button on the top right.

Thanks so much for this info! I’ve been trying to get rid of a TV series that I inadvertently must have clicked on by accident, and couldn’t delete it from my Continue Watching list. It’s finally gone, until the next season starts, which I hope never happens. At least it’s gone for now.

This is more of a hack than a How To! This app should have the option to remove items (NOT mark them as watched) from this section when people pay money to use the app!
Steve Larner says:
For some reason, Peacock TV removed the option a while back and has since then left it unavailable. There is several theories as to why, but NBC usually appeared behind on app updates and improvements.

Thanks for your effort. Unfortunately, NONE of your solutions work. I have been trying to rid myself of a Tour de France episode for months, to no avail. Of course, trying the slider to with a couple of minutes to go and watching the end. Epic fail. There are NO menu choices on ANY of my devices for doing what you purport. I have the app on (2) LG TVs, (2) Firesticks, Apple TV (the best), and an Android phone. NO dots, no nothing. ANYWHERE. Where did you get your data?
Steve Larner says:
The Peacock app used to offer a removal option but has since removed it from the website and the apps. Check out the updated instructions, as of November 2022.
ItsMe says:
Too much hassle to look for a comment with a date. Needs to be more obvious. When Peacock stops being free for Xfinity members, I’m leaving.
