Skype keeps the identities and profile details of mutual contacts hidden for the privacy of their users. When searching for a specific person not yet saved as your contact, Skype will however display the number of mutual contacts you have with each search result.

How to See the Number of Mutual Friends on Skype?

To see the number of mutual friends with other Skype accounts via Windows 10:

  1. Launch the Skype app via your PC.
  2. Towards the top-left of the screen, click inside the search text field labeled: “People, groups & messages.”
  3. Enter the name of the person you wish to find.
  4. The right-hand side of each matching result will display the number of mutual friends you have. Inversely, when there is no number displayed, there are no mutual friends.

  1. Launch the Skype app via your Mac.

You are not able to find friends by location. However, you can see the location details of your friends if they have included them in their profile information.

To see a contact’s location information when it’s available using a mobile device:

1. Launch the Skype app via your mobile device.

How Do I Transfer Contacts From One of My Skype Accounts to the Other?

You can send your Skype contacts from one account to the other. To do this using a mobile device or desktop:

1. Sign in to the Skype account you wish to send your contacts from.

3. From the results, select your other account and begin a chat.

How Do I Block, Unblock, or Report Someone?

To block and account abuse for a Skype contact via your desktop:

1. Sign in to your Skype account.

2. From the “Contacts” or “Chats” tab, right-click or press and hold on a contact you wish to block.

3. Click on “View profile.”

· Alternatively, you can click on the “Edit” pen icon button, then “Block contact.”

4. Towards the bottom of their profile, click on “Block contact.”

5. In the “Block this contact?” window, to:

· Account abuse and block a contact, toggle ON the “Report abuse from this person” option, choose a reason then, “Block.”

· Block a contact without account abuse, select “Block.”

· When blocked, the contact will disappear from your contacts list and chats.

Note: To block unwanted contact from an unknown number, from “Chat” select the “Block + the number” link.

To block and report account abuse for a Skype contact from a mobile device:

1. From “Contacts” press and hold a contact you wish to block.

2. Click on “Block contact.”

3. In the “Block this person?” window, to:

· Account abuse from this contact, toggle ON the “Report abuse from this person” option, choose a reason then “Block.”

· Block a contact without account abuse, click on “Block.”

· When blocked, the contact will disappear from your contacts list and chats.

To unblock a contact using your desktop:

1. Sign in to your Skype account and click on your profile pic.

2. Click on the “Settings” icon.

3. Click on “Contacts” > “Blocked contacts.”

4. Next to the contact you wish to unblock, click on “Unblock.”

To unblock a contact using a mobile device:

1. Click on the hamburger menu from the “Chats” tab.

2. Select the “Settings.” Icon menu.

3. Towards the bottom of the screen, select “Manage blocked users” to see a list of the Skype contacts you’ve previously blocked.

4. Next to the contact you wish to unblock, click on “Unblock.”
