How to Have a Girl in The Sims 4

As a complete life simulator, Sims 4 lets you expand your family by letting your Sim get pregnant and give birth. And just like in real life, you don’t really get to choose the gender of your Sim’s baby. So, what do you do if you want a baby girl?

How to Have a Girl in The Sims 4

In this article, we’ll share tips on increasing your odds of giving birth to a girl in Sims 4. We’ll also share the latest Sims 4 pregnancy cheats that will get you a baby of the desired gender quicker. Additionally, we’ll explain how to get girl twins or triplets in the game, both with and without cheats.

How to Make Your Sim Have a Girl Baby in The Sims 4

The odds of getting a girl in Sims 4 without influencing the pregnancy are pretty much the same as in real life: you’ll either get one or not. Jokes aside, certain actions during a Sim’s pregnancy can increase their chances of giving birth to a girl. Follow the instructions below:

  1. Experience the “Try for Baby” interaction with a Sim male. He must be either a young adult, adult, or elder. A regular “WooHoo” won’t get you pregnant.
  2. If you don’t see the “Try for Baby” option, ensure your relationship is at least 40% Romantic and is formal: “Dating,” “Engaged,” or “Married.”
  3. Once your Sim gets pregnant, it’s time to play with fate. To get a girl, have them eat strawberries and avoid carrots. You can find strawberries in the Willow Creek neighborhood or grow them in your garden with the Seasons expansion pack installed. However, you can only harvest strawberries in spring.
  4. Have your Sim listened to pop music from any stereo? Avoid alternative music, no matter how you like it.
  5. Wait for your Sims baby to be born. Bear in mind that this method doesn’t give you a 100% guarantee.

How to Have a Girl with a Cheat in The Sims 4

Even if your Sim eats strawberries only and listens to pop music non-stop, they may still have a baby boy. However, cheats can get you the desired baby girl much quicker. Follow the steps below to enable cheats and instantly get a girl in Sims 4:

  1. Enable cheats by pressing the “Ctrl,” “Shift,” and “Alt” keys simultaneously. On PS4 or Xbox, hit all four triggers at the same time.
  2. Enter “testingcheats true” to the cheat input box.
  3. Bring up the cheat input box using the same shortcut once again and type in “sims.get_sim_id_by_name [your Sim’s name]”.
  4. Copy the Sim’s ID and enter the “pregnancy.force_offspring_count [Sim’s ID]” cheat into the cheat box.
  5. After the baby is born, bring up the cheat input box gain and type in “cas.fulleditmode”.
  6. After using the cheat, press the “Shift” button and left click the baby. You will then be able to edit their gender, appearance, traits, and age.

How to Have Girl Twins in The Sims 4

By default, the odds of giving birth to a single baby in Sims 4 is 89%, to twins 10%, and to triplets 1%. That’s a lot of time to wait for fate to give your Sim twins. While there’s no foolproof method to ensure your Sim gives birth to twins, you can increase the odds by following the instructions below:

  1. Purchase the “Fertile” reward trait for 3,000 Satisfaction Points from the Satisfaction Reward Store. It’s the only way of influencing the odds of multiple child births in the base game.
  2. If you own the City Living expansion pack, get the “On Ley-Line” trait.
  3. If you’re skilled in Herbalism and have reached Level 10, brew the “Elixir of Fertility.” You’ll need to get the Outdoor Retreat expansion pack first.
  4. Sims with Level 9 Wellness skill can make a “Fertility Massage” to receive the “Fertility Boost” moodlet. You should engage in the “Try for Baby” activity while it’s active. This method requires the Spa Day expansion pack.

Alternatively, you can be guaranteed to get twins in Sims 4 by using cheats:

  4. Copy the Sim’s ID and enter the “pregnancy.force_offsprig_count [Sim’s ID] [number of babies]” cheat into the cheat box.
  5. After the babies are born, bring up the cheat input box gain and type in “cas.fulleditmode”.
  6. After using the cheat, press the “Shift” button and left-click the first baby. You will then be able to edit their gender, appearance, traits, and age. Repeat with the second baby.

Is it possible to Guarantee Girl Triplets?

You aren’t alone hunting for the “Triple Play” achievement. This award, desirable by many players, is only issued to Sims who have given birth to triplets. Unfortunately, there’s no way to guarantee your Sim will get triplets without using cheats. You should combine the following methods and hope for triplets rather than twins:

  1. Purchase the “Fertile” reward trait for 3,000 Satisfaction Points from the Satisfaction Reward Store. It’s the only way of influencing the odds of multiple births in the base game.

Note: Even with these methods combined, the odds of getting triplets only rise from 1% to about 10%. So, you may still have to try up to ten times to give birth to triplets. Stay patient.

However, you can ensure your Sim gets triplets by using the following cheats:

Repeat with other babies.

Additional FAQs

In this section, we’ll answer more questions regarding pregnancy in Sims 4.

Why Can’t I Get Pregnant in Sims 4?

There are several reasons why you can’t get your Sim pregnant in Sims 4. Firstly, households in the game have a cap of eight members. If you reach the limit, you’ll need to get rid of one of the members by moving them out or waiting for them to die.

Secondly, a Sim must be either able to “Become Pregnant” or to “Get Others Pregnant.” You can disable the function by choosing “Neither.” So, ensure your Sim has it enabled before trying for a baby.

Lastly, the odds of impregnation don’t equal 100%. It may take some time to get your Sim a baby, especially if your Sim has the “Hates Children” trait that increases the “Conception Tension.” Typically, you can get pregnant from the second try as the base odds are 80%.

Eat Your Strawberries
