PlayStation VR gun revealed: Here’s the controller you’ll be shooting people with on the PS VR
The PlayStation VR just got its first purpose-built accessory, and it looks a bit weird to be honest. Hidden in Sony’s PlayStation VR Farpoint announcement, the new peripheral, called the ‘PS VR Aim controller’, features a pretty light and thin frame.
Really, PS VR Aim controller looks alot like an upside-down junior hacksaw, but it does include all the features you’d expect. There’s a trigger – useful in any sort of gun, and the rest of the PS VR Aim’s buttons are grouped on the top of the controller, within easy-reach of your thumb.

Like the PlayStation Move controller, the PS VR Aim’s light is actually there to track your movements. Sony says this brightly coloured bobble allows it to achieve “direct 1-to-1 tracking, which “will give gamers an unbelievable sense of presence in the virtual world.”
The PS VR Aim controller looks a touch like the old PlayStation Move Sharpshooter accessory for the PS3. No doubt Sony is hoping that Aim will be considerably more successful. It may not look as tactile, or as sophisticated as the controllers for the Oculus Rift or HTC Vive but that’s fine, it’ll probably a great deal cheaper.
