The best Black Friday deals on Sony Xperia phones
Sony’s put out some great phones recently, so it’s a shame they err on the expensive side. But thankfully these rules don’t apply on Black Friday, of course.
This year, £299 goes long way at Giffgaff. For this paltry price you can get a 64GB Sony Xperia XZ2 Compact, which runs the latest Snapdragon 845 processor and normally retails for closer to £470. Giffgaff will also toss in a pair of Sony WF-1000x wireless headphones, valued at £180, for free.
The catch? Giffgaff is going to make you buy one of its SIM cards if you don’t have one already, which start at £10. Luckily, you can cancel it immediately, and £309 is still a really good deal for hardware that would normally cost £650.
But sadly, the Compact is a little, well… compact. If a larger phone is more your speed, the larger 5.7in Xperia XZ2 is on sale on Amazon, down to £499 from the usual £629. This handset is pretty much identical to the Compact, except with a larger screen and higher resolution.
Unfortunately, neither of those phones have a headphone jack. That’s not too big of a problem with the Compact, since it comes with wireless headphones. But if you want to use wired headphones, you’ll have to pick up one of the older models. The Xperia XZ1 may be a generation behind, but it’s still a solid phone, and you can have it right now for £259.95, down from £399.
And lastly, Giffgaff has an unbeatable offer on the midrange XA2 Ultra. Normally sold for around £350, you can snatch it for £199 (£209, if you have to buy the sim card.) Another really solid deal, though personally, I’m eyeing the XZ2 Compact, if only for the free headphones.
