How To Turn Off Subtitles on an LG TV

How to Turn Off Subtitles With the Remote

If you have your LG TV remote, turning off the subtitles is easy. Here’s what you need to do.

  1. Press the “Home” button.
  2. Go to “Settings.”

How to Turn Off Captions

Subtitles and captions are different. Subtitles are more useful for someone who doesn’t understand the language. However, captions are usually intended for someone who can’t hear. That’s because captions can indicate dialogue and other audio effects.

Unfortunately, sometimes you can have both subtitles and closed captions turned on. This will make the screen too messy and ruin your experience. In addition, removing the subtitles won’t automatically remove captions.

If you already turned off your subtitles but still get lines of text over your favorite video content, the following steps will help you remove them.

  1. Press the “Home” button.
  2. Go to “Settings.”
  3. Use the down arrow to navigate to “Options.”
  4. Go to the “Captions” line.
  5. Use the right arrow to toggle it to “Off.”

This will disable closed captions on your LG TV and declutter your screen.
