To allow you to respond quicker to earnings reports and get a head start on trades, Webull facilitates trading during the pre-market period. Read on to find out how to do this using the app for desktop and mobile.

We’ll show you how to set up pre-market trading to buy stock when your price point is available; how to modify your limit price, and how to sell shares.

How to Buy Pre-Market Stock Webull on a PC

Here’s how to set your account to buy stock during the pre-market period via Webull for desktop:

  1. Launch and sign in to the “Webull” desktop app.
  2. From the menu at the top, click on the “Trade” tab.
  3. In the search field at the top right, enter a search for the stock name you wish to buy.
  4. Click on the stock name from the list of search results to bring up the stock details.
  5. At the far right, click on the menu icon.
  6. Select “Add a widget” then “Trade.”
  7. Next to “Side,” ensure the “Buy” tab is selected.
  8. At the “Limit Price” option the current trade price for that stock will display. If you wish to increase or decrease the price at which you wish to buy, use the plus and minus buttons, or click in the field to enter a specific price.
  9. At “Quantity” enter the number of shares you wish to buy using the plus and minus buttons or click on the field to enter a number.
  10. At the “Trading Hours” option, click on the drop-down arrow.
  11. From the “Select Trading Hours” pop-up window, click on “Include Extended Hours.” Or depending on your version the drop-down arrow may be labeled “Ext Hours.” If so, select “Yes” to trade during pre-market.
  12. At the “Time-in-Force” option, click on the drop-down arrow to switch “Day” to “GTC” which means “Good Till Cancelled.” This will put a hold on your order until a trade is available at your price point. Unless you cancel the order, it will expire after 60 days if it wasn’t satisfied.
  13. Once you’re happy with everything, hit “Buy (stock name).”
  14. A review of your order will display, click “Confirm.”

If you want to change your buy price:

  1. Towards the bottom of the “Trade” widget click on the “Orders” tab.
  2. Click on “Working” to bring up your open order.
  3. Click on the order to bring up its details in the widget.
  4. At “Limit Price” click on the pencil icon.
  5. Increase or lower the price then tap “Confirm.”

How to Sell Stock Webull on a PC?

To sell stock via the Webull desktop app, do the following:

  1. Open and sign in to the “Webull” app.
  2. From the menu at the top, click on the “Trade” tab.
  3. At the far right, click on the menu icon.
  4. Select “Add a widget” then “Trade.”
  5. Enter the name of the stock you wish to sell or click the “Orders” tab at the bottom of the “Trade” widget to locate the stock.
  6. Click on the stock name to bring up its details.
  7. Click on the “Sell” tab.
  8. Set your Sell price at “Limit Price” by entering a price or using the plus and minus buttons.
  9. Enter the number of shares you wish to sell in “Quantity.”
  10. Once you’re happy with everything, hit “Sell (stock name).”
  11. A review of your order will display, click “Confirm.”

How to Buy Pre-Market Stock Webull on an iPhone

To set your Webull account to buy shares for a set price during pre-market, do as follows:

  1. Open and sign in to the “Webull” mobile app.
  2. From the tab options at the bottom of the screen, tap “Markets.”
  3. At the top right, click on the “Search” icon.
  4. Enter a search of the stock name you’re interested in buying.
  5. Tap on the stock name listed in the search results.
  6. At the bottom left, click on the “Trade” button.
  7. At the top left, your stock will display with its current trading price.
  8. Scroll down to “Limit Price.” You’ll see it’s set to the current trading price. Use the plus and minus buttons if you wish to increase or decrease the price point. Or click in the field to enter a specific price.
  9. At “Quantity,” enter the number or use the plus and minus buttons to state how many shares you want.
  10. At “Time-in-Force,” click on the drop-down arrow to change “Day” to “GTC” – “Good Till Cancelled.” This puts a hold on your order until a trade is available at your price point. Unless you cancel the order, it will expire after 60 days if it wasn’t satisfied.
  11. To trade during pre-market, next to “Extended hours,” tick the “Yes” option.
  12. Once you’re happy with everything, tap on the “Buy” button at the bottom left.
  13. A review of your order will display. Tap “Confirm” to confirm.

If you wish to change your buy price:

  1. Tap “Open Orders” via the options at the bottom.
  2. Click on the pencil icon next to the price of your order.
  3. Increase or lower the price as you wish then tap “Confirm.”
  4. An “Order Modified Notice” will display at the top of the screen, showing the new price point.

How to Sell Stock Webull on an iPhone

To sell shares in Webull from your iPhone:

  1. Open and sign in to the “Webull” app.
  2. From the tab options at the bottom of the screen, tap “Markets.”
  3. At the top right, tap the “Search.”
  4. Enter a search of the stock name you’re interested in selling.
  5. Tap on it from the results.
  6. From the bottom left select “Trade.”
  7. At the middle of the screen tap “Sell.”
  8. At “Limit Price,” set your sell price.
  9. At “Quantity,” enter the number of shares you want to sell.
  10. When you’re done, tap “Sell” at the bottom left.
  11. A review of your order will display. Click “Confirm.”

How to Buy Pre-Market Stock Webull on an Android Phone

To buy shares during the pre-market period using the Webull app:

  1. Launch then sign in to the “Webull” app.
  2. Tap “Markets” from the tabs at the bottom of the screen.
  3. At the top right, click on the “Search” icon.
  4. Enter a search of the stock name you want to buy.
  5. Click on the stock name listed in the search results.

  4. The top of the screen will display an “Order Modified Notice” with the new price point.
