Baldur’s Gate 3 Quest Order

Baldur’s Gate 3 puts you through a series of expeditions that take you across Faerun and into the eponymous Baldur’s Gate. These quests are the pillar of every RPG, and they aren’t that different here. Most main quests are triggered upon finishing the previous one and moving into the next stage of the act (or a new act altogether). But they can also begin after you interact with a non-player character (NPC). However, since it’s an open game, players can do whatever they want, and there is no specific quest order for you to follow.

Baldur’s Gate 3 Quest Order

This article covers all the known quests you can unlock in BG3 so far.

Major Quests in Baldur’s Gate 3

BG3 players have several options they can use to complete these main quests. These expeditions help you advance your journey through Faerun. While some are quick, others may have you going through a rollercoaster of a fight to survive.

Most main quests also contain one or more subquests. This allows the player to branch out to other quests while in the same area or take stock of their goals without going too far out.

Before beginning the main missions, there is a little prologue where you’ll have to complete two quests: “Rescue the Illithid’s Captive” and “Escape the Nautiloid.” This serves as a tutorial for the game.

After that, the game truly begins and you can start exploring Faerun with fewer restrictions. Here are the main quests and its subquests:

One thought on “Baldur’s Gate 3 Quest Order”

Dave says:
This is exceptionally thorough, but to follow it you would need to make another document where the quests are actually in order. There is no way to follow this as a quest guide *as written* without an extra few hours of work, printing it out if you don’t have access to two screens, ans you also have to have actually done everything to know the order because some things are not open if you follow this guide, others will close; ei Save the Grove and Auntie Ethel. Good luck with that after defeating Ketheric Thorn. You also have the fight listed under two sections which obviously is not possible. This is a fantastic first half of the work required for a viable quest order guide.
