Whether you’re playing Among Us or getting bombarded with the memes (getting stale!), everyone can identify the game instantly. The little colorful Crewmates are now everywhere on the internet. However, do you know that you can pick the colors yourself?

If you’re wondering how to do that, you’re in the right place. We’ll walk you through all the steps on all available platforms. You won’t have to look anywhere else.

How to Change Color in the Among Us iPhone App?

Originally, Among Us was released on mobile devices. It can still be downloaded from the App Store for iOS devices. Let’s take a look at the steps needed to change your color on the iPhone version.

Launch Among Us on your iPhone.
You’ll be greeted by the main menu, and from there you can select either “Online”, “Freeplay”, or “Local.”
Before you start playing the game, you’ll be able to wander around in the pre-game lobby.
Walk towards the laptop in the center of the screen.
You’ll be able to select “Customize” at the bottom-right corner.
A small window will pop up with choices.
Select “Color”.
At the right of your Crewmate, you can select from the palette of colors available.
When you select your color, the menu will close and you can wait for the game to start.

To prevent confusion from identifying other Crewmates, bear in mind that you can’t be the same color as another player’s Crewmate. If you’re early, you can select the color you want.

How to Change Color in the Among Us Android App?

Android users can also play Among Us with friends by downloading it from Google Play. The game is free on mobile devices. The steps for changing your color on Android phones are similar to iPhone:

Playing in a private match allows you to spend more time customizing your Crewmate. In public lobbies, you’ll have to hurry before the room fills up.

Functionally, there isn’t a difference between the iOS and Android releases. Both versions can play together without any issues. Mobile users can even play with other platforms.

Mobile players can chat with a phone keyboard or use voice chat. Unless you feel the need to connect a USB keyboard, these two methods are sufficient.

How to Change Color in Among Us on the Nintendo Switch?

On December 15, 2020, Among Us was made available for purchase for $5 on Switch. This update also introduced cross-platform play for all platforms. To play online, Switch owners have to get a Nintendo Online subscription.

The Switch version is controlled with JoyCons, Pro Controllers, or other compatible controllers. You can even type with a USB keyboard if you’ve hooked one up. Otherwise, you’ll be typing with the system keyboard, which is slower.

Here’s how you change your color on the Switch version:

How to Change Color in Among Us on a Windows PC?

PC gamers can get Among Us on Steam, Microsoft Store, and Epic Games Launcher for $5. The PC version allows for rapid typing, and players can even call each other on Discord and other third-party services. The integrated voice chat function also works if you have a microphone.

PC was one of the first platforms Among Us was released on other than mobile. While many players preferred to play on their phones, the PC version was often used by streamers. After all, they didn’t have to invest in another streaming setup for their phones.

How to Change Color in Among Us on the Xbox?

Currently, the game isn’t available on any Xbox platform yet, be it the Xbox One, Series X, or Series X. The good news is that the developers have plans to release it for Xbox sometime in 2021. While we don’t have a release date, we hope it’s soon.

Because Among Us is a very simple game, the steps for changing your color should be the same on the Xbox too.

How to Change Color in Among Us on the PlayStation?

Among Us hasn’t received a console release apart from the Nintendo Switch, disappointing PS4, and PS5 owners. The developers have also teased a console release date in 2021.

The current obstacle to a console release appears to be the lack of a friends list feature. As both the PlayStation and Xbox platforms have voice chat capabilities, the developers will have to find a way to integrate it into Among Us. The problem is that crossplay isn’t possible with these features.

The developers are finding a solution to make Among Us on consoles a reality. We’ll just have to wait and see what happens in the future.

As with the Xbox, it’s more likely that changing color on the PlayStation should be the same as all other platforms. The games are simply ports, so the general features and settings would be similar. Switching platforms won’t be a problem.
