8. Once logged in, go to the “Advanced” tab.
9. Select “Administration” then “Router Update” from the side menu.
10. Click “Browse” then look for the ExpressVPN firmware “.chk” file you downloaded previously.
11. Select “Upload.” You may be asked to end your internet connections, if so, click “OK.”

Your router should then restart.

Connect Your VIZIO TV to the Internet

Via Wi-Fi:

1. Press the “Menu” button on your VIZIO remote.
   
2. Click “Network” then “OK.”
   
3. Select “Network Connection” then “Wireless.”
   
4. Select your router from the list of available networks.
5. Your Wi-Fi password is on your router.

Via Ethernet Cable:

4. Select the location name to connect to that server.

Once you’re successfully connected to your chosen location, “Connected” will display under the power button.

How to Use a VPN to Change Location With a VIZIO TV by Using a Firestick

Once you’ve created an ExpressVPN account, set up a subscription plan, and downloaded the app to your Firestick, you can change the virtual location of your VIZIO TV from your Firestick. Here are the steps:

2. Go to your Firestick’s home screen and enter a search for “ExpressVPN” then select it.

3. Sign into your router to change your virtual location.
4. Set up your Roku account for a connection to that server.

For the best streaming experience, your Roku account should be set up with the same location as your VPN router. Therefore, if you’re using an existing Roku device, you’ll need to sign out of your current Roku account via a factory reset, then create a new Roku account with the new location.

Here’s how to factory reset your Roku device:

1. Press the Home button on your Roku remote.
   
2. Go to “Settings,” “System,” then “Advanced system settings.”
3. Choose “Factory reset.”
4. Enter the code displayed, then “OK.”
5. Click “Start factory reset.”

To create a new Roku account:

1. From your ExpressVPN account, refresh the page to make sure your VPN location is stored.
2. Go to the Roku Sign up page to create your account by completing the instructions.

To connect your Apple TV to the router:

1. From your Apple TV select the gear icon “Settings” app.
2. Towards the bottom select “Network.”
3. Select the box beneath “Connection.”
4. Apple TV will now scan for nearby Wi-Fi networks. Select your network in the list.
5. On the authentication page, enter your password.
6. Once complete, your Wi-Fi network will display at the top of the networks list above the others and listed in the box under “Connection” on the “Network” page.
