How to Download All Videos from the Ring Doorbell

The Ring Doorbell allows you to monitor the desired area of your home in real-time. Therefore, you’ll always know what’s going on around your house, and even get motion notifications directly to your phone.

How to Download All Videos from the Ring Doorbell

However, what if you want to save certain video recordings that get stored in your event history? Is it possible to download all videos from the Doorbell to another storage device?

Yes, you can. But to share and download videos, and use a wide range of other features, you’ll need to subscribe to the Protect Plan. This article will explain how to do it.

First Thing – Subscribe to the Protect Plan

When you subscribe to the Ring Doorbell Protect Plan, you’ll be able to record videos, store them, share them, or download them to your computer. Furthermore, you’ll be able to take snapshots and gain access to the Ring’s Cloud storage, where all your videos can remain stored for 60 days before they’re removed.

You can choose between two protect plans – Basic and Plus. The Basic protection plan unlocks all the aforementioned features for a single device. Therefore, if you have one Ring Doorbell camera (on your front door, for example), there’s no need for a Plus Program.

However, if you have multiple devices, Plus is the way to go. This protection plan also offers 24/7 professional monitoring, so if there are any threats to your security such as break-in attempts and thefts, the emergency services will be dispatched in real-time.

To find out more about the Protect plan and decide whether or not you want to subscribe to it, go to the official Ring Doorbell Protect web page. Note that some features such as Ring Alarm and Professional Monitoring are only available in the U.S, while the 60-day storage becomes 30-day storage if you live abroad.

Download Ring Doorbell Videos from Your Smart Device

With a Protect plan, you can download (or share) all your videos via the Ring app. There are two methods – one is to download a single video from the ‘Timeline’ view, and the other is to download multiple videos from the ‘Event History’ menu. The following sections will cover both.

Download and Share Videos via Timeline Feature

Downloading videos from the Timeline is a pretty straightforward process. Follow these steps:

  1. Launch the Ring app on your device.
  2. Choose a device that you want to download a video from.
  3. Go to the video that you want to share.
  4. Tap the ‘Share’ icon at the bottom corner of the screen.
    share
  5. Tap ‘Save Video’ on the new window.
    save video

This will store the video on your smart device so it doesn’t get removed after 60 days.

As you’ll notice, there are various other ways to share your video. You can post it on Facebook, send it via email, share it in your third-party social apps such as WhatsApp or Messenger, and various other features.

This sharing feature is extremely useful if you want, for example, to send a video file to the authorities. As you can do it via several simple taps.

Download Videos Using Event History

To download all videos from the Ring Doorbell, you can use the ‘Even History’ menu. Do the following:

  1. Launch your Ring app.
  2. Select the desired Ring device.
  3. Tap the ‘Event History’ icon.
    event history
  4. Choose the video that you’d like to download. It should then open.
  5. Tap the ‘Share’ icon (similar to the ‘Timeline feature).
  6. Choose ‘Save Video.’

Download and Save Files on Your Computer

If you want to save files directly on your computer, you can log in to your Ring Doorbell account from the web browser and download the videos. Here’s what you should do:

  1. Open your web browser and go to the Ring log in screen.
  2. Enter your account credentials and press ‘Sign In’. You should be redirected to your recorded videos right away.
  3. Choose a video that you want to download.
  4. Click ‘Share’.
  5. Click ‘Get Link’. The website will generate a link that will lead to your video recording file.
  6. Copy the link (select the link, then right-click and press ‘Copy,’ or just press Ctrl + C)
  7. Open a new tab on your web browser.
  8. Paste the link into the address bar and go to the page. Your video should open.
  9. Click the ‘more’ icon (three vertical dots) at the bottom-right of the screen.
  10. Select ‘Download’.

This will download the video file to your browser’s download folder location. Afterward, just navigate to the download location and you can move the video to any other folder. This way you don’t have to worry that the video will disappear after a month or two.

Ring Doorbell: Convenient Protection and a Memory Box

The Ring Doorbell Protect Plan is a cheap and convenient way to keep yourself protected and ensure that plenty of valuable recordings never disappear.

It allows you to keep records of unfortunate events, such as theft and break-in attempts, which will prove invaluable to the authorities. However, it’s mostly used as memory storage for happy moments – groups arriving at your birthday party, family gatherings, and plenty of other occasions.

Would you subscribe to the Ring Doorbell Protect plan? Or have you already? If so, how’s your experience been? Leave a comment in the comments section below to let us know.

Steve Ward says:
So what if you want to save the time in between events also? My mailman marked a package as delivered at 3:35 and there was no event at that time just the record in between events. I want to show them that he wasn’t there at that time.
GENNARO BASSAT says:
EXACTLY! SO HOW DO WE DOWNLOAD ALL EVENTS AT ONCE??
WOW …. LOL. AGAIN THE QUESTION AT HAND IS :
HOW CAN I DOWNLOAD THE ENTIRE HISTORY OR EVENT TIMELINE
AND NOT EACH EVENT AT A TIME!
THANK YOU!
Fred Berney says:
I thought part of the question was how can you save all of your videos at one time. IOW not having to go to each file and download it one at a time. I would like to download all the videos that have been recorded over the last two months. Is there a way to download all of them at one time without having to download each one separately?
