Luckily, in Spotify, your favorite music can be grouped in a playlist to save time clicking or tapping around to get from song to song. Using a free or paid subscription, you can create playlists, listen to playlists started by your friends, or those compiled by Spotify. If you want to edit a playlist started by someone, you’ll need to duplicate it first.

How toCopy a Spotify Playlist on a PC

To copy any playlist, you’ll need the desktop app installed on your computer, as the option to duplicate is only available via the desktop app. Here are the steps to reproduce a playlist from your PC or Mac:

  1. Launch the desktop app and locate the playlist you wish to copy.
  2. Select the songs in the playlist by pressing “Ctrl” + “A” for Windows or “Cmd” + “A” for Apple.
  3. Right-click on the selected songs, then go to “Add to playlist,” where you’ll have two choices:
    • Choose another pre-existing playlist to copy the music to.
    • Choose “Add to new playlist” to make a new playlist with the songs you’re copying.
  4. Depending on your selection, the playlist songs will either appear added to the existing playlist or a new one.

How to Duplicate a Spotify Playlist on an iPhone

You can only make a copy of a playlist using the desktop app. Follow these steps to replicate a playlist of your choice using a Mac or PC:

  1. Access your Spotify account via the desktop app, then locate the playlist you wish to copy.
  2. Highlight all the tracks in the playlist by pressing “Ctrl” + “A” for Windows or “Cmd” + “A” for Apple.
  3. Now right-click on the highlighted tracks, and go to “Add to playlist,” where you’ll have two choices:
    • Select a pre-existing playlist to copy the tracks to.
    • Or, select “Add to new playlist” to make a new playlist with the songs you’re copying.
  4. Depending on your choice, the playlist tracks will appear added to the existing playlist or a new one.

The option to duplicate a Spotify playlist is only available via the desktop app. Here’s how to copy a playlist:

  1. Open Spotify, then locate the playlist you wish to copy.
