How to Change Name in Fire Emblem Heroes

You started playing Fire Emblem Heroes, and you want to change your default nickname, or the name you chose, found at the top-left of the main menu. Unlike other games, Fire Emblem Heroes makes changing your nickname and other in-game names very easy.

How to Change Name in Fire Emblem Heroes

If you want to pick a more inspiring nickname or simply want to personalize your default one, you’re in the right place. This guide will cover changing your name in FEH, and the instructions work on various platforms like Android, iOS, and Bluestacks.

How to Change your Name in Fire Emblem Heroes

If you’re tired of being a “Kiran,” you don’t have to play with that name. In the past, the name was a default nickname the game gave to new players. Some chose not to change the default, while others retained the nickname thanks to a flurry of rerolls in a race to obtain the best characters.

Thankfully, changing your nickname is a relatively simple process.

Hence, you don’t have to be another “Kiran” in the crowd. Check out the steps below to get started with changing your nickname. You will also find steps for changing your team and Summoners’ names further ahead.

How to Change Your Nickname

Though changing your nickname in the game is not intuitive, it is a relatively simple process once you learn how to do it. Check out these instructions for changing your FEH nickname:

  1. Open “Misc” at the bottom right of your screen.
  2. Tap on “FAQ / Etc.” a green-colored button at the bottom of the screen.
  3. Select “Change Nickname.”
  4. After changing your name, press “Done” on your on-screen keyboard, and the game will pick up on your new nickname.
  5. Press the green-colored “Confirm” button.

You can change your nickname unlimited times, but there are some rules to it. For example:

  • You can’t use some special characters, though it is possible to use spaces.
  • Your nickname can not be longer than 12 characters.

Name Your Teams

You can make up to 20 teams and name them. Follow these steps to name or edit your FEH teams and their names:

  1. Go to “Allies.”
  2. Interact with “Edit Teams.”
  3. Tap on “Edit Team Name.”
  4. Insert a name and tap on “Confirm.”

Change Your FEH Custom Character’s Name

Changing your nickname is not the same as changing your custom character’s name, that is, the Summoner or the Tactician. Check out these steps to change your Summoner’s name:

  1. Open “Allies.” It is at the bottom.
  2. Tap on “Interact with Allies.”
  3. Interact with “My Summoner.”
  4. Tap on the blue icon right next to Hero Summoner to change your name.
  5. Type the new name and press “Done.”
  6. Select the “Confirm” button to complete the process.

Following the former method allows you to explore your way to the “My Summoner” and other related settings. Newer updates let you directly access “My Summoner” quicker from Home by tapping on the Summoner. You will find him at the top.

As a side note, after changing your nickname, you must battle once so that your FEH friends can see the new name.

Using the New “My Summoner” Feature

One of this year’s updates, specifically the 5.2.0 Update from February 2021, lets you access “My Summoner” much quicker from the Home screen.

To do so, press on your Summoner and select “To my Summoner.”

You will find your Summoners avatar at the top of your screen. What’s noteworthy is that the update lets your Tactician participate in your Mjölnir’s Strike defensive team. You can include the Summoner in all slots except for the “special slot.” My Summoner comes with a set of sub-features: Greeting, Appearance, Copy Skills, Edit Accessory, and Swap Weapon.

Your Greeting

You can change your displayed greeting for friends the same way you change your name.

Your Summoners Appearance

Use the option found at the bottom of the screen named “Edit Look” to change the Summoner’s appearance. These options are preselected, though. Currently, you can select from nine different looks, and the one you choose will appear in certain situations.

Copy Skills

You can use “Copy Skills” to copy any skill and Sacred Seals from the Heroes you rolled or from Combat Manuals you own. These are equipable via your Tactician. Note that doing this doesn’t deprive other Heroes of the skills that you copy.

Edit Accessory

This option will let your Tactician equip the accessories you have. Just like the skills, you can wear accessories by copying them. Doing this lets you and your team have matching accessories.

Swap Weapon

You can select a weapon for your Summoner among seven types: Sword, Spear, Axe, Red Tome, Blue Tome, Green Tome, and Colorless Tome.

Pick a Fiery Name and Be Reborn

It is always satisfying when a game lets you do simple things with ease. That includes changing your names. Fire Emblem Heroes is one of those games that enables you to rename unlimited times and gives you a lot of liberty when picking your nickname. There are a few restrictions, but they are probably worth the compromise.

So, what new nickname do you have in mind? Who is on your main teams? Let us know in the comment section below.
