How to Change Reticle in PubG or PubG Mobile

Red dot sights are a staple in many first-person shooter (FPS) games, including the famous PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds (PUBG). When you find a gun, one of the next things you’d usually think of picking up is a sight. Dots are great, but did you know that you can change the reticle?

Your reticle settings are found in the settings menu. There are three other shapes to choose from besides the normal red dot. They are chevrons, three-bar, and crosshairs.

Note that not all sights allow you to change reticles. For example, you can change the reticle shape on red dot sights except if you mount it on a handgun. On handguns, you can only use the standard red dot reticle.

Changing the Reticle on a PC in PubG

PUBG is very popular among PC gamers, even if the game is popular on mobile. On PC, you have better graphics and movement, which some value over portability. You can easily change the reticle on PUBG PC as well.

These are the steps for changing your sight’s reticle on PC:

1. Launch PUBG.
2. When the game loads, move your mouse to the top-right corner and select the gear icon.
   
3. When the menu pops up, select “Settings.”
   
4. Select the “Gameplay” tab.
   
5. Scroll down and find the “Reticle Type” option.
6. Make it “Custom” and the different sights will pop up.
   
7. Change the reticles as you see fit.
   

When you’re done, you can exit. However, there’s a neat trick you can use to change your reticle in-game. When you’re in a match, you can switch the reticle shape by pressing ‘’Page Up’’or ‘’Page Down.’’ For some scopes, pressing this will only change the brightness.

Instead of going to the settings every time, you can take advantage of this feature and switch reticles even in the middle of a firefight. Just be sure to move quickly or someone will shoot you. You don’t want to be caught lacking while bullets are flying everywhere.

Changing the Reticle on a Playstation in PubG

PUBG is available on both PS4 and PS5, but PS3 doesn’t support it. On PlayStations, you can also use the Page Up or Page Down method to switch reticles in the field. Instead, you press the ‘’R2’’ and then up or down on the D-pad.

However, if you want to adjust the reticle style manually outside of a match, you can do it in the main menu. Here’s how:

1. Launch PUBG.
2. When the game loads, use your controller’s left stick and move to the top-right corner and select the gear icon.
   
3. When the menu pops up, select “Settings.”
   
4. Select the “Gameplay” tab.
   
5. Scroll down and find the “Reticle Type” option.
6. Make it “Custom” and the different sights will pop up.
   
7. Change the reticles as you see fit.
   

Using the left stick to navigate the menu can be slower, but that’s the only way to play the game. PUBG on consoles doesn’t allow you to use a mouse and keyboard, unlike other titles.

Changing the Reticle on an Xbox in PubG

Just like PlayStations, you can play PUBG on an Xbox One and Xbox X|S. Both consoles only allow you to play with their respective controllers. You can use a similar method to cycle between reticles just like with PS4 and PS5.

Aim down the sights and use the D-pad to switch between the four styles. However, if you want to change them manually, you can follow these steps:

1. Launch PUBG.
2. When the game loads, use your controller’s left stick and move to the top-right corner and select the gear icon.
3. When the menu pops up, select “Settings.”
4. Select the “Gameplay” tab.
5. Scroll down and find the “Reticle Type” option.
6. Make it “Custom” and the different sights will pop up.
7. Change the reticles as you see fit.

You’ll be pressing different buttons since both consoles have different controller designs, but the general idea is the same.

Changing the Reticle on an Android Device in PubG

Changing your crosshairs on Android requires you to go to the menu. Outside of matches, the menu is found at the bottom-right of the lobby screen, as an arrow pointing up. Here’s how you’ll change the reticle on Android:

1. Launch PUBG on your Android device.
2. When you reach the lobby screen, tap on the arrow at the bottom-right.
3. Select “Settings.”
4. Go to “Gameplay” and scroll down.
5. Find the “Reticle Type” option.
6. Change it to “Custom” and you’ll see the different options pop up.
7. Start changing the reticle style.

Sadly, you can’t change the reticle mid-gunfight. You’ll have to change it when you’re in a safe location or outside of a match.

iPhone

You can follow similar steps as you would on Android if you play PUBG on your iPhone. Here are the steps:

1. Launch PUBG on your iPhone.
2. When you reach the lobby screen, tap on the arrow at the bottom-right.
3. Select “Settings.”
4. Go to “Gameplay” and scroll down.
5. Find the “Reticle Type” option.
6. Change it to “Custom” and you’ll see the different options pop up.
7. Start changing the reticle style.

No matter your mobile device, these settings apply to them.

Crosshair Hero

If you want to use custom crosshairs on PUBG mobile, you can download a free app called Crosshair Hero. It allows you to overlay a custom crosshair on your screen all the time. It works with more than PUBG too.

Crosshair Hero isn’t illegal, since it doesn’t alter PUBG’s files in any way. That said, we recommend you use it at your own risk. Unfortunately, it’s only available on Android devices.

This is the process of installing and using Crosshair Hero for PUBG:

1. Download and install Crosshair Hero from the Google Play Store.
   
2. Grant the app permission to draw over other apps.
3. Launch Crosshair Hero.
   
4. Select the “Crosshair” option.
   
5. After you finish setting up, tap “Start” at the top-right corner.
   
6. Launch PUBG and start tapping heads.

Advantages of Red Dot Sight

Some of the red dot sight’s advantages include:

• Minimal obstruction when aiming down the sights

The red dot sight is very slim compared to the holographic sight, which has a chunky appearance. When equipping the former, you tend to miss fewer details and acquire targets easier. Many players enjoy using it over other short-range sights.

• Great for short-range encounters

Having little magnification, you can use it to fight in close quarters effectively. Compared to a scope with more magnification, the red dot sight lets you move your gun quickly when you’re aiming down the sight. Even at longer ranges, a highly skilled player can still score hits.

• Fits many types of guns

The red dot sight is a versatile sight you can fit on many different guns, including handguns and rifles. When you pick one up, you’re able to perform better than with the iron sights all guns have.

How to Change the Crosshair Color

Changing the crosshair is also an option if you don’t like the default white crosshair. All platforms are capable of this adjustment, and you can find it in Settings. You can follow most of the same steps as we described in the previous segments.

You can change the crosshair color in PUBG on all platforms by doing the following:

1. Launch PUBG.
2. Go to the Settings menu.
   
3. Select the “Gameplay” tab.
   
4. Scroll down and find the “Crosshair Color” option.
   
5. From the drop-down menu, select the color you want to use.
6. Select “Apply Settings” and start playing.
   

Crosshair Hero also allows you to adjust the crosshair color when you set it up. If you like the custom crosshairs, you can even add a shade not found in PUBG itself.
