How to Change Voice Commands in PUBG Mobile

In PUBG Mobile, players get few opportunities to communicate with their teammates, typically limited to a voice chat. PUBG Mobile also has a set of predetermined voice commands that users can input directly from their menu. This allows them to forgo using their device mics and get a sentence out with a few taps.

How to Change Voice Commands in PUBG Mobile

These commands are not set in stone, though.

There are few possible ways you can customize them to suit your and your team’s game style better. You can even change the language of the voice commands you hear.

If you’re looking for a way to change voice commands, look no further. This article will explain what you’ll need to do to change PUBG Mobile voice commands.

How to Change Voice Commands in PUBG Mobile

There are three main ways you can change your PUBG Mobile voice commands:

  • Swap out preset commands in the inventory menu.
  • Use different voice announcers and packs.
  • Customize your voice commands with different voices or languages.

The first two options can go hand-in-hand since they’re available from the same menu. Generally, these are more than enough to provide a decent level of customization and streamline your PUBG experience. If you want to move some preset commands around or use different announcers, here’s what you need to do:

  1. Launch PUBG Mobile on your device, then select “Inventory” from the menu list or bottom bar.
  2. Select the character you want to change the voice messages for by using the character selection menu. You can customize voice commands for every character you own.
  3. Go to the “Equipment Box,” the fourth icon from the top.
  4. Tap on the “Voice Message” option (the icon is a message icon or microphone).
  5. Your screen will be split in two. On the left side are your currently equipped voice commands. You can use the “Wheel” or “List” tabs to switch how your voice command menu appears on the screen.
On the right side of the screen, you’ll see all the available voice commands. There are three command categories to choose from: Tactics, Movement, and Discussions. Tap on the appropriate tab on the top to switch between them.
  6. Tap the “Change” button on the bottom to make changes.
  7. If you want to change the announcer, tap on the dropdown list on the top bar in the right-hand menu. Character-specific announcers are locked to that character.
  8. Use the “-“ icon next to a voice command to remove it from the selection and make space for new ones. If there are no icons next to the voice command to choose from, you can drag and drop voice commands.
  9. Select the “+” icon on the list or wheel on the left, then tap the voice command you wish to place from the right-hand menu to lock it into that option. Alternatively, drag-and-drop until you’re satisfied with your options.
  10. Tap the “OK” button on the bottom left to confirm your changes.

You’re free to play some games and test your new voice commands. If you ever want to go back to the default voice settings for the character, tap the “Default” button in the voice command menu.

If you want to obtain more announcer voices, you’ll need to own the character for that voice pack. You can either get the voice lines for them or purchase them from the store. Otherwise, you’re limited to the two default announcers. Those two have the same lines spoken in different voices, while unique announcers come with their own usable message variations.

The other way to change your voice commands is to use custom voice options.

For example, you can use different language packs, typically available only for the localized game version. Alternatively, you can find other voice announcers explicitly created for PUBG commands or taken from other games.

However, to get these voice packs, you’ll need to do a bit of digging around. You can find some samples with meticulous research on the internet.

It should also be noted that using custom voice packs this way doesn’t change what your teammates will hear from their devices. Custom voice commands are made to overlay and replace local game files. When you input a custom voice command from your device, other players will hear the original command associated with the same voice command slot.

Using custom commands is also somewhat discouraged since it alters the game files and can be construed as modifying or hacking the game. However, since it doesn’t actually provide a game advantage, announcers are generally the safest customization option to use if you want more than the default choices.

Custom voices aren’t tested (or available) for iOS devices since their file packaging system works differently. Therefore, we can only vouch for Android devices for now.

Here’s what you need to do to use PUBG Mobile custom voices:

  1. Download ZArchiver for your mobile device. This tool allows you to unpack files downloaded from the browser and manipulate your application files.
  2. Download one of the custom voices mentioned above or the one you found on the internet. Your download folder should contain an “Active.sav” file. This is where voice commands are stored.
  3. Open ZArchiver and extract the file to your local storage.
  4. Go to the following address in your Android storage:
    Storage > Emulated > Android > Data > com.tencent.ig > Files > UE4Game > ShadowTrackerExtra > ShadowTrackerExtra > Saved > SaveGames

  5. Replace the “Active.sav” file in the folder with the one you extracted. As a safeguard, move the original file somewhere else to keep it as a backup on the phone.
  6. Launch the game and proceed to character editing.

From there on, follow the steps outlined above to change which voice lines you want to use. Most lines will indicate the original voice command they have changed, allowing you to see what your teammates will hear.

If you can’t see the changed voice lines or your game crashes on loading, reboot your phone, then retry the steps to change voice lines.

If you want a slightly easier way to make changes and find the correct files, you can connect your phone to a PC via the USB port. This connection gives you direct access to the phone files if you select the USB storage option. Use unzipping programs available on the PC (like WinRAR or 7Zip) to extract the downloaded files.

Hearing Voices in PUBG Mobile

When the default voice commands get boring, you’re only a few steps away from changing them. With how many options are available with default announcers, we’re sure you can find some that work perfectly for your gameplay. If you want to hear other voices, you’ll have to get character-specific lines from the game store or resort to downloading and using custom packs.
