How to Shoot While Driving in PubG

Other than clean headshots and funny explosive kills, few things are more satisfying than a drive-by shooting in PUBG. In 2020, the ability to shoot while driving was added to the game, allowing drivers to defend themselves from enemy gunfire. Previously, only passengers in vehicles were able to return fire from within a vehicle.

How to Shoot While Driving in PubG

Shooting while driving is only limited to handguns and a few other sidearms, so if you don’t have one, you won’t be allowed to shoot and drive

Android

PUBG Mobile is often played on phones that don’t have extra buttons, so all the controls are on your Android phone’s touchscreen. There’s a way to shoot while driving without stopping your car, but you might want to relearn how to shoot. This method is what is called a claw grip.

A claw grip is when at least one finger is on the face of the controller, or in this case, the phone. It allows you to free up a finger for aiming and shooting at once. Now that you know what a claw grip is, you can shoot while driving in PUBG Mobile.

  1. When in a game of PUBG Mobile on Android, make sure you have a handgun.
  2. Get into a vehicle and start driving.
  3. While driving, your right hand shouldn’t be on the buttons for aiming or shooting.
  4. When you see an enemy and want to engage, use a finger to aim.
  5. Use your other finger or thumb to press down on the fire button.
  6. All this time, your left hand should be controlling your vehicle.
  7. When done, stow your handgun away and continue driving as needed.

If you don’t want to use the claw grip, a normal grip works fine as well, though you’ll find that with practice, the claw grip is more effective. Whatever you use is still up to personal preference.

iPhone

PUBG Mobile on iPhone is basically the same game as on Android. As such, all you need to do is to follow the same steps to shoot while driving.

  1. When in a game of PUBG Mobile on iPhone, make sure you have a handgun or other sidearm.

Similarly, your grip should be what works for you. Don’t be forced to adopt the claw grip if it starts hurting you. Your safety and comfort are more important.

Xbox

On Xbox and other consoles, shooting while driving is comparatively easier than a mobile device. Controllers have plenty of buttons, which makes movement and execution much smoother. On an Xbox, shooting while driving requires you to press down on the right stick.

  1. Pick up a handgun or other sidearm and ammo before you board your vehicle.
  2. Start it and drive off looking for enemies.
  3. When you see an enemy, press down once on the right stick.
  4. Shoot with LB.
  5. When you’re done, press down on the right stick again to exit ADS mode.
  6. Continue driving and repeat the above steps if necessary.

It might be a little strange shooting with the left trigger, but you’ll get used to it.

PlayStation

Driving and shooting in PUBG for PS4 and PS5 work just about the same as on Xbox. The difference is that the buttons are labeled differently. On PlayStation, LB is L1 and the right stick is called R3. Otherwise, the same actions work on either console.

  1. Pick up a handgun or other sidearm and ammo before you board your vehicle.
  2. Start it and drive off looking for enemies.
  3. When you see an enemy, tap R3 with your thumb once.
  4. Shoot with L1.
  5. When you’re done, tap R3 again to exit ADS mode.
  6. Continue driving and repeat the above steps if necessary.

Stadia

Google Stadia also supports PUBG, and you play it with the Stadia controller. This controller’s buttons are labeled like the PlayStation’s controllers, though it doesn’t have a PlayStation button. However, the inputs for shooting and driving are the same.

As you can see, the controls for shooting and driving on a console are the same regardless of the console.

Windows

If you’re a traditional PC gamer with a mouse and keyboard, then this section is for you.

  1. Pick up a handgun or other sidearm and ammo before you board your vehicle.
  2. Start it and drive off looking for enemies.
  3. When you see an enemy, aim down the sights by right-clicking.
  4. Shoot with the left mouse button.
  5. When you’re done, right-click again to exit ADS mode.
  6. Continue driving and repeat the above steps if necessary.

You won’t be able to boost while shooting, which necessitates that you get out of ADS mode before you can make a speedy getaway.

Mac

Did you know that you can play PUBG on Mac? You’ll need GeForce Now and a Steam account to do that. After buying the game, you’ll be able to play it on your Mac.

Since Macs aren’t made to play video games, you won’t be able to truly play it. That’s where GeForce Now comes in. With this service, you’re actually streaming the gameplay to your Mac, and the computer PUBG is running on is a high-performance gaming PC.

This means you’ll get to turn up the graphics to high settings and enjoy crisp and smooth framerates. On the downside, you need a very reliable internet connection. Streaming the game to your Mac is very laggy if you don’t have strong Wi-Fi or an Ethernet cable.

With that out of the way, let’s take a look at how you’ll drive and shoot in PUBG while playing on a Mac:

It’s not surprising that you’ll use the same controls as you would on Windows. After all, the gaming PCs streaming to your Mac are Windows PCs, which allow for the optimum gaming experience.

You can also connect a controller or joystick to play PUBG on your Mac, but make sure it’s a supported controller.
