How to Get Abducted in the Sims 4

Are you tired of the mundane routine of everyday life in The Sims 4? Have you ever wanted to experience something out of this world? Then spice up your gameplay by letting aliens abduct your Sims.

How to Get Abducted in the Sims 4

This exciting and rare event will surely shake things up in your Sim’s life. Here is everything you need to know about how to get your Sim abducted in The Sims 4.

How Does Abduction Work?

Abduction has been a classic feature in The Sims series since the first game was released in 2000. In previous iterations of the game, being abducted by aliens was a random event that could occur at night or when using the telescope. In The Sims 4, this feature was reintroduced in the “Get to Work” expansion pack, much to the delight of fans who missed this thrilling, albeit slightly strange, event.

While there is a low probability of Sims being taken each night, participating in specific actions can significantly improve the likelihood.

A hidden gauge will increase and grant a buff lasting around 24 hours, which boosts the chances of being abducted by aliens that night. Once the aliens arrive, the Sim will investigate an unknown light source. They will be away for a few hours before being returned, feeling dazed. When this happens, there is a chance (approximately 25%) of male Sims becoming pregnant.

There is a slight chance of abduction if your Sim is outdoors between 10 p.m. and 4 a.m., and it may be possible to increase the probability of getting taken by going outside at night.

Increasing Your Chances for Abduction

Here are some of the effective methods to increase the chances of your Sim going on a (un)expected rendezvous with the extraterrestrial:

  • Being a genius
  • Searching for Truth interaction unlocked at Level 7 Logic skill
  • Joining the Scientist Career
  • Using Satellite Dish or “Out of this World” Desktop
  • The Electroflux Wormhole Generator
  • Using cheats
  • Using mods

Be a Genius

Sims with the Genius trait are more likely to be abducted by aliens. This trait also grants Sims the Focused moodlet more frequently, which can be useful in helping them in learning the Logic skill faster and succeed in their Scientist career. With their heightened intellectual abilities, Geniuses in The Sims 4 have an edge in career and extraterrestrial pursuits.

Stargazing and Logic Skill

You can still get abducted the classic way, from stargazing with a telescope in the Sims 4. Once you reach Level 7 in Logic, you will unlock an interaction on the telescope (Observatory) called “Search for The Truth.” This action gradually raises the hidden gauge with each passing minute.

You can achieve the same result as the computer or satellite by spending a few hours each day using the observatory. The “Search for The Truth” interaction is available from around 8 p.m. until 6 a.m. Still, it will not be accessible if you have used the ability to contact aliens, as the gauge will already be at its maximum.

Scientist Career

Sims in the Scientist active career can benefit from objects that increase the likelihood of abduction. At the highest levels of the Scientist career, players can access the “Out of this World” desktop computer. It’s unlocked at the final career level and located in “Electronics” under “Computers.”

Additionally, the Sim will find the Satellite Dish accessible. It’s unlocked at Level 4 and located in “Electronics,” under “Misc.”

These items serve the same purpose, with a 24-hour cooldown between uses. You cannot use this ability for the following 24 hours after use but will receive the maximum level of the abduction gauge.

Electroflux Wormhole Generator

As you progress through the Scientist career path, you will eventually unlock the invention constructor item at career Level 6. One of the inventions you can create with this device is the Electroflux Wormhole Generator, which has the added benefit of increasing the chances of alien abduction for their Sims. Furthermore, this invention also grants Sims access to the alien world of Sixam, allowing them to explore its unique terrain and meet its inhabitants without abduction.

Mix-and-Match Method

To maximize your chances of getting abducted by aliens in The Sims 4, combine several of the above methods:

  1. Place your Sim in the Scientist career.
  2. Work hard to increase your Sim to Level 4 quickly.
  3. Once you’ve reached Level 4, use the invention constructor at work to build the satellite dish, which you can then use on your home lot to contact aliens.
  4. As you continue to level up, aim to reach Logic level 7.
  5. Go outside between 10 p.m. and 4 a.m. and use the observatory to “Search for the Truth.” This will gradually increase your chances of being abducted.

Cheats and Mods

If you’re a seasoned Sims player, there’s a good chance you’ve dabbled in cheating and modding your favorite games and just want an easy way to get your Sims abducted. While cheats and mods are generally safe, it’s important to note that using them can potentially harm your game, so be sure to proceed with caution and back up your save files.

Cheating

To access the alien computer and satellite dish in The Sims 4, you can use the “Testingcheats” cheat code by pressing Control+Shift+C on your PC. After enabling testing cheats, you can use the “bb.IgnoreGameplayUnlocksEntitlement” cheat to allow your Sim to purchase the alien computer and “bb.ShowHiddenObjects” to buy the satellite dish.

Remember that these cheats should be used in Live Mode rather than Build/Buy mode, as you’ll need to return to Live Mode to see the objects.

Modding

If you prefer to use mods, there are several available that can increase your chances of being abducted, such as the “Alien Abductions & No Abductions” mod by Tanja1986, which removes the 24-hour cooldown on contacting aliens using the telescope. Another popular mod is the “MC Command Center” by Deaderpool, a versatile utility mod that, among many other useful features, allows you to edit the behavior of alien abductions in your game.

Investigate Mysterious Anomaly

Getting abducted in The Sims 4 requires a bit of luck, effort, and some knowledge of game mechanics. However, with the right career, skills, objects, cheats, or mods, you can increase your chances of being taken by aliens and effortlessly gift your Sims that terrifying and exciting otherworldly experience.
