Ranger Remote Control offers an interesting alternative tool to NetSupport School 10.5, with the same features except for remote management.

Ranger allows teachers to remotely view, record and play back staff and pupils’ screen activity so they can demonstrate work, interact with the class, provide support and gather feedback – without continually moving from one machine to another.
Reinforcing some of the features seen it its mother product, Ranger Remote Control offers the ability to support pupils through the same tools – restricting websites and applications to those readily needed to support teaching and learning.
It works effectively over a wireless network too, meaning teachers and pupils can communicate from wherever they are – even if they’re on a mini-beast hunt on the school field.
This allows pupils to use a specific website to identify and record “in the field” without the need to have a teacher breathing down their necks.
This develops autonomy in pupils – a pleasant spin-off from a product that can at first appear restrictive – and once pupils have undertaken their web-based activity using Ranger Remote Control, teachers can deploy a multiple-choice test using the “Testing and Quiz” component.
Ranger Remote Control is a very good product, with only remote management missing to keep it apart from NetSupport School 10.5.
