Snapchat’s Snap Map is an interactive complete map of Earth, designed for sharing location information between friends. You can view Snaps submitted to Snap Map from across the world, including celebrations, events, and breaking news.

The main features of Snap Map include:

  • Snaps – To see Snaps from people in different locations all over the world, click on the heatmaps. Blue indicates there is not much activity currently happening in that area. Red indicates there are plenty.
  • Our Story – You can add your location snaps to a story collection for that specific location. When someone views that story collection, they’ll see snaps from people who contributed to “Our Story” in that location. To view a Story just click on the circular Story icon.
  • Friends – You can see where your friends are when they’ve opted to share their location with you. To start a chat with a friend, click on them, or to see their profile click and hold on to them. To find a particular friend, select “Search” and enter their name into the search field.

Note: When your Bitmoji account is integrated with Snapchat your friends will see your Bitmoji characters appear at your location on the map and vice versa.

  • Places – allows for easy interaction with local businesses. Click on the place of interest to see its listings or to find a particular business, enter a search for the business name.

To change your location settings in Snapchat via a mobile device:

  1. Launch Snapchat.

To update your location, the location services on your device must be enabled, then open Snapchat to pick up the location change. Your location won’t update as you move. It will update periodically attaching your Bitmoji to the last location you visited.

How Accurate Is the Location on Snapchat?
