How To Cancel an Order on the Wish App
Unless you’ve lived under a rock for the past few years, you’ve probably shopped through the Wish app. Since late 2015, this app has been the go-to platform for exceptional savings and inexpensive merchandise.
While some users still question its legitimacy and customer policy, the Wish app is among the most popular e-commerce platforms. You should know that the app is 100% legit and there shouldn’t be any problem if you need to cancel an order or get a refund.
In this article, we’ll take you through the cancelation process step-by-step, and we’ll also provide information on how to get a refund or return an item.
Canceling an Order
The cancelation process on the Wish app is simple enough. The app interface is user-friendly and you can easily proceed with the cancelation on your iOS/Android device or desktop. For the purposes of this article, we’ll use the mobile app but the same steps apply on the desktop version as well.
To cancel an order, navigate to the Order History page after you log into the app. The tab is located just under the Shopping Cart and you can access it by tapping on the “hamburger icon” on the top left.
The next window provides you with a list of all the items you’ve ordered. You can initiate the cancelation by tapping on the Contact Support button below the item. Then you should select “I want to cancel my order”.
But this method works only for items that haven’t been shipped yet. According to the company, you have an 8-hour window to ask for cancelation. If you wait more than that, the item is likely to be shipped.
Note: There are no fees for an order cancelation and it’s immediately canceled when you tap on the “I want to cancel my order”.
Asking for a Refund
The refund process is straightforward as well. Again, you need to access your Order History, find the item in question, and utilize the virtual chat to ask for a refund. Here are the necessary steps:
If an item is past its delivery date and you haven’t received it, tap on No in the yellow box that appears under the listing.
Afterward, you select Contact Support and tap on No again to confirm you haven’t received the product.
As soon as you tap on No, another message pops up informing you that you can get a refund. To confirm, tap on “I want a refund”.
Next, you need to choose your preferred refund method, and there are two options here. You can instantly get store credit by tapping on Wish Cash. If you select the Original Payment Method, the money will arrive at your account in 10 business days.
As soon as you choose the method, a confirmation message pops up and the money will soon be on your account (Wish Cash or otherwise).
Cool Fact: You get to keep the item if it finally arrives, even if you asked for a refund.
Wish App Returns
Like all e-commerce platforms, the Wish app has a clearly defined return policy that applies to most products. It doesn’t apply to software and DVDs or hygiene products with a broken seal.
Compared to cancelations and refunds, the return process is more time-consuming and may result in an additional cost.
Like on many other e-commerce platforms, you have 30 days to return the item you obtained. If you get the wrong product or it arrives faulty, the merchant covers the cost of return shipping. In any other case, you’ll need to cover the shipping fee.
How to Do It
Start with locating the product in your Order History, and open chat with customer support. Don’t forget to confirm that you received the item before you proceed.
You provide the necessary information within the customer support chat and follow the shipping/returns instructions. Once the product gets back to Wish, the company will give you a full refund, which includes the initial shipment fees.
Note: International shipping applies to most Wish products, though some may come from US warehouses. This means it may take some time before Wish gets the item you returned. In general, it shouldn’t be longer than 3 weeks.
