Blox Fruits vs. King Legacy – the Basics

Besides being based on the same source material, Blox Fruits and King Legacy share several other similarities. For instance, both games are adventure MMORPGs (massively multiplayer online role-playing games) that utilize the common WASD keyboard commands.

The best way to understand the similar and different aspects of Blox Fruits and Kings Legacy is to examine the games from the ground up.

Blox Fruits

Blox Fruits takes place in an open world that consists of three seas. One of the main objectives of the game is to collect the eponymous Blox Fruits. You, as the player, can pick them up at random game world locations during a limited timeframe, through various raids, or by buying them from in-game vendors.

Using the fruits, you can gain extraordinary powers, including elemental immunity. However, your newly gained power comes at a price: Your character can no longer swim, which can be a massive drawback in a game revolving around sea adventures.

Blox Fruits randomly assigns a race to your character. The in-game races include Human, Angel, Shark, and Rabbit. There are also two unique races, Cyborg and Ghoul, that you can unlock through specific challenges or buy from a Ghoul vendor.

Each race has a specialization and powerful abilities that can be unlocked after evolving.

Specializations and Abilities

Humans are damage specialists and the race you have the highest chance of being assigned, at 62.5%. A Human’s unique ability is the Last Resort, a buff that increases your damage as your HP goes down. This ability, along with other race-specific buffs, is locked behind the evolution tree, and you can access it only after evolving your character.

Angels come with a boost to their jump ability, making them excellent in the air. This race’s special ability, Heavenly Blood, comes with incoming damage reduction and a healing factor that also recharges your energy.

Sharks are, unsurprisingly, at their best when swimming. The race starts with a passive buff that makes Sharks take less damage in water. With further evolution, you can eliminate the water damage completely and unlock Water Body, a race-specific special ability that extends the damage reduction to include all sources.

Rabbits are specialized for speed. They have a passive speed increase, a boosted dash ability, and Agility, a unique ability that makes them race even faster. Of course, reaching top speed as a Rabbit will require you to evolve your character to the maximum.

To play as a Cyborg, you’ll need to complete a special quest called the Cyborg Puzzle. After that, you’ll unlock this race that excels in defense and energy regen. The Cyborg’s unique ability is Energy Core, which can devastate enemies by dropping down their damage, breaking their instinct, and inflicting damage on all enemies within a specific radius.

Finally, Ghouls are a race with an interesting gameplay balance. You can view them as generalists but with weaker abilities compared to others. To offset their relative weakness, Ghouls have a passive ability that leaches enemy health. However, this ability only triggers when doing damage with a fighting style. Ghouls have the Heightened Senses special ability, which, in line with their generalist nature, provides several buffs.

King Legacy

King Legacy is an open-world game with various environments spread across the world’s islands. The game is largely combat-based, although there’s plenty of exploration you can do on the expansive map.

Similarly to Blox Fruits, King Legacy has fruits that give the player character different boosts, from special abilities to animal transformation. The fruits are obtainable via random spawns, the in-game market, or through gacha rolls.

Specializations and Abilities

King Legacy has four playable races: Human, Mink, Sky, and Fishman. Humans are considered the base race and are generalists. Minks specialize in speed and have a funny chat-related quirk where their chat messages will occasionally end in animal sounds.

The Sky race is specialized for jumping and soaring through the air. This race spawns with wings. Finally, the Fishman race is designed for the sea and has many buffs related to being in the water. For instance, this race can swim and regenerate HP faster in water. Similar to Mink, Fishman will sometimes end their chat messages in a unique way, saying “Glub.”

In addition to races, players can choose between three factions:

  • Marines – skill-based damage dealers
  • Pirates – focused on stealth and agility
  • Revolutionary Army – hit-and-run guerilla tactics

Regardless of race and faction, players need to explore the world, find resources, and upgrade their character and gear. At later levels, upgrades are necessary to engage in battles successfully.
