Unlock your game streaming potential with new perks! Keep on reading to see how to boost a server as well as what to expect when you go for the Boost.

Discord Nitro

For those that pay $9.99 per month or the $99/year subscription, Discord includes 2 server boosts and then 30% discounts on all other purchased boosts. If you have Discord Nitro Classic, then you won’t receive the included server boosts, but it’s only $4.99/month

Guide for Boosting a Server

If you’re ready to give your Discord server a boost, follow the simple instructions below:

a – Select the Server to Boost

First, you need to select which server you want to boost. Once you’re in that server, go to the Server Settings drop-down menu and click on the Server Boost button.

b – Confirm Boosts and Perks

After you select the Boost button, you’ll see a new screen. This displays the perks you currently have as well as the number of Server Boosts already applied for this server.

If it all seems legit, confirm it by clicking on the Boost This Server button.

Keep in mind that this screen also gives you the option to “Gift Nitro” to someone else. If you’re feeling generous, you can click this button first.

c – Confirmation Page (Again!)

Discord really wants to make sure that you know what you’re signing up for, so you’ll have to confirm again.

After clicking the confirmation button, they’ll ask you once more. This is your chance to back out if you’re having second thoughts.

Discord knows you’re serious about boosting a server. They just want to make sure that you’re boosting the right one. If everything is still correct, press on the Boost button a final time.

You should know, though, that you can’t transfer this Boost to another server for seven days if you boost this one.

d – Select Your Boost Number

Are you looking for multiple boosts?

After the confirmation screen is the place to do it.

Discord asks you to choose how many boosts you want for this server. Don’t worry, though! You can see the subtotal before you actually pay for it.

To change the number of server boosts, select the plus or minus symbol in the window.

e – Payment Info

You’re close to the finish line, but you need to take care of a few details first – namely, your billing info.

Discord gives you a full breakdown of your current bill along with the Boost purchase so that there are no surprises. It’s an abbreviated view, though. If you need more info, you can click on the Details button.

This handy window also allows you to confirm your credit card info to pay for the purchase. As a Discord user, the information is pre-filled out.

Also, you get the legal stuff for the Discord Terms of Service agreement. Read it well and click on the “I agree” box.

When you’re fine with everything displayed on the payment page, click on the Purchase button to complete your Boost.

If it all goes smoothly, the next screen you’ll see is one celebrating your new Server Boost.

Congratulations!

Unlockable Levels and Perks

Each unlocked level comes with a variety of perks. But you need people to use their Server Boosts towards your server for this to work.

This is what the level breakdown looks like:

Level 1 w/ 2 Server Boosts

First, you get an extra 50 Emoji slots bringing up your grand total to 100 emojis. You also get a sweet 128 Kbps boost in audio quality. In addition, your live streams get a boost as well. You’re looking at a bump up to 720P 60 FPS for Go Live. To top it off, Discord is now offering 3 day archive options for threads and their last activity.

You also get a customer server invite background as well as an animated server icon.

Level 2 w/ 15 Server Boosts

When you unlock Level 2 you get all the perks from Level 1 and then some. You get 50 more emoji slots for a grand total of 150 when you include Level 1, too. You also get better audio quality at 256 Kbps and your Go Live streams get another boost to 1080P 60FPS.

Additionally, Level 2 gets you a server banner as well as 50MB upload limit to the server for all members, the ability to create private threads, and a 1 week archive option for last activity on threads.

Level 3 w/ 30 Server Boosts

As you may have guessed already, Level 3 grants you all access to everything that comes in the prior levels. But your emoji slot count jumps up to 250 with an extra 100 added for this level. You also get another bump in audio quality at 384Kbps.

You really can’t go further for Go Live streaming quality, so Discord gives you a higher upload limit. Level 3 also gives you access to a vanity URL to use as you see fit. Use any phrase, number combination, or words to link to your server.

The Takeaway

It’s a simple process to add boosts to a server and unlock great perks in the process. Discord also offers subscription perks for all Server Boost purchases. And you can move your boost from one server to another after the cool-down period.

Discord only works when the community comes together as a team. So, if you found your favorite server, it’s time to support them with a Boost or two. Let us know all about your Discord-related activities in the comments section below.
