How to Swap BNB to Smart Chain in Trust Wallet

Binance Coin, also called BNB for short, is a valuable cryptocurrency that relies on the Binance platform, making it a centralized token. In 2021, the company experienced an overload of users attempting to buy BNB, which led to a total suspension of withdrawals. Today, the issue is long gone, but you might want to transfer your BNB into a different wallet to use a decentralized platform.

How to Swap BNB to Smart Chain in Trust Wallet

Swapping BNB to smart chain is one of the most viable methods, and you’ll need Trust Wallet for the process. It might seem complicated, but the steps are pretty straightforward. Read on to find out more.

How to Swap BNB to Smart Chain in Trust Wallet on an iPhone

Before we get into the steps, there are several points to know about swapping BNB to smart chain.

Using Trust Wallet

Trust Wallet isn’t the only way to purchase BNB, but it’s followed only by KuCoin, a relatively small exchange. KuCoin is more obscure and allows you to buy BNB, but it doesn’t have Trust Wallet’s advantage of allowing users to bridge varying blockchains together.

BNB and smart chain are always equally valuable, and the main difference other than different logo colors is that BNB is on the BEP2 network. On the other hand, the smart chain exists on the BSC, or Binance Smart Chain.

Most other decentralized exchanges don’t let users buy BSC-based altcoins with their BNB, and PancakeSwap is one example. Thankfully, they can always use Trust Waller to convert BNB to smart chain in mere seconds.

The Swapping Process

You can already perform a transfer if you already have a Binance account and some BNB. However, if you don’t have Trust Wallet yet, follow these steps:

  1. Go to the Trust Wallet official website and head to the download page, or head to the App Store and search for it.
  2. Download the app from the App Store.
  3. Wait for it to install and run.
  4. In Trust Wallet, select “Create A New Wallet.”
  5. You’ll now see a recovery phrase consisting of 12 words, which you should record and keep safe.
  6. Verify that you have written the recovery phrase somewhere. You now have a wallet ready for receiving BNB.
  7. Next, look for the “Smart Chain” option on the app and enable it.
  8. Tap on “Receive” to get the wallet address, which you can copy to your clipboard.

Open the Binance app on your iPhone and read these instructions when you reach this point.

  1. On Binance, open your BNB wallet.
  2. Select “Withdraw.”
  3. You’ll see a new menu, and the first thing to do is pick the BEP20 network.
  4. Decide how much you want to withdraw.
  5. Paste the wallet address you copied.
  6. Select “Withdraw” at the bottom of the screen.
  7. Wait for the transfer to finish.

Go back to Trust Wallet for this last phase.

  1. Look for your BNB tokens with the search function.
  2. Tap on BNB.
  3. Select “Swap.”
  4. Pick “Swap To Smart Chain.”
  5. Enter the amount you want to swap.
  6. Confirm your choice by tapping “SWAP”.
  7. After several minutes, the swap process will be complete, and you can check for it.

There will be gas fees (transaction costs) for the withdrawal and swapping process, but they’re insignificant compared to the value of the cryptocurrency moved.

How to Swap BNB to Smart Chain in Trust Wallet on a PC

While Binance is available on PC, Trust Wallet is a purely mobile experience. That said, it’s possible to use an Android emulator on a PC to run Trust Wallet.

Once you’ve installed Bluestacks or another emulator on your PC and have the Trust Wallet app ready, you can start the BNB to smart chain transfer. Use these steps:

  1. On Trust Wallet, enable smart chain functionality.
  2. Get your wallet address by clicking on “Receive.”
  3. Copy the address.

Go to the Binance desktop client so you can initiate the first transaction:

Trust Wallet itself is a highly secure app that protects cryptocurrency investors. You can even create an account without an internet connection, though you still need it for verification purposes. Otherwise, you can check your balance while offline.

Using Trust Wallet with Bluestacks is relatively safe, but there may be unforeseen complications from emulation. Since the emulator is stable, it’s up to users whether using Bluestacks is a great idea. At the very least, it’s much more convenient.

Perfectly Secure

Both Binance and Trust Wallet have extensive security features designed to protect your BNB-to-smart-chain transactions. No matter what device you own, the process is anonymous and secure, making swapping viable. The gas fees are modest and don’t take a large chunk out of your balance.
