How to Transform in DragonBall Legends

When you first start playing DragonBall Legends, you won’t get many character options. The game’s story mode is the primary way to obtain new characters and currency to unlock (or summon) additional ones, slowly boosting your team until you can take on other players in PvP combat.

How to Transform in DragonBall Legends

One of the ways characters get more powerful over time is by transforming into stronger versions. Saiyans, for example, turn into Super Saiyan forms, which can evolve, especially for the story mode’s protagonist.

In this article, we’ll discuss how to transform the starting character Shallot into Super Saiyan modes and further.

How to Transform in DragonBall Legends

Not all characters in DragonBall Legends can transform. Those that do can usually do so inside a match when the transformation requirement has been fulfilled. The simplest transformations are done via the character’s special ability. These abilities effectively only require the character to survive for long enough to use them.

To use a special ability, all you have to do is tap the character’s avatar when the ability timer fills up and starts to glow. The character will immediately transform, raising their stats and even gaining some unique abilities along the way.

Other characters can transform in various ways, typically by hitting a skill that you need to draw during combat or reaching a certain percentage of health.

How to Transform Shallot in DragonBall Legends

Shallot is a character specifically designed for the mobile game and does not currently exist in any other DragonBall medium. It’s the story mode’s protagonist, allowing the player to grasp the game concepts and utilize branching strategies by improving Shallot’s skillset.

At the beginning of the story mode, Shallot starts as a regular Saiyan, with a mediocre skillset and stats high enough to defeat starting opponents. As the game progresses, the player can use other characters to teach Shallot new moves. In this way, Shallot can learn almost every move in the game, allowing him to be incredibly versatile to prepare for future story mode strategies.

Shallot also has multiple transformation tiers, accessible through the game’s customization menu. To achieve these transformations, you need to progress through the story mode and defeat AI opponents.

Once you’ve unlocked a transformation mode, here’s what you need to select transformation in future combats:

  1. Tap on the “Menu” button on the bottom right corner of the screen.
  2. Select “Customize” from the grid (should be second on the top row).
  3. Under the “Transformations” tab, the game will list the most recently set transformation for Shallot. If you want to change it, tap on “Change” on the right.
  4. Tap on the transformation form you want to use (preferably the rightmost one, as it’s typically the most powerful), then tap “Save Settings” to complete the process.
  5. Shallot will transform into the Super Saiyan form chosen through his special ability (tapping the character avatar when the buffer fills up).

All Shallot Transformations

Shallot starts the story mode as a Saiyan who has just woken up and needs to fight increasingly powerful opponents in the Tournament of Time. The story mode presents an opportunity to learn more about the characters and storyline. It also provides players with helpful gameplay tips and a way to craft strategies against player opponents.

Starting with Part 2, Chapter 7, Episode 11, Shallot transforms for the first time into a Super Saiyan. In this fight against Frieza, the new Super Saiyan form allows the player to overpower the AI opponent effectively. All you have to do is survive until the special ability is charged, then activate it to transform Shallot into a Super Saiyan and wrap up the fight relatively quickly.

After that episode, Shallot’s transformation form becomes permanently available to the player to use in future combats by going into the game’s customization menu.

In Part 4 Chapter 5 Episode 8, Shallot unlocks the Super Saiyan 2 mode. The improved version of the Super Saiyan form will be useful in defeating Cell, the episode’s opponent. The transformation can become Shallot’s main form starting from the next episode by editing the transformation options in the customization screen.

Shallot turns into a Super Saiyan 3, an even more powerful form, in Part 6 Chapter 3 Episode 10. The mode becomes permanently available once the player defeats Majin Buu in the episode’s combat scene. The fight shouldn’t be too difficult once Super Saiyan 3 activates and gives enormous stat boosts to turn the battle to the player’s advantage.

The latest transformation Shallot received is the Super Saiyan God form, again against Buu (now turned Super Buu). The fight occurs in Part 7, Chapter 7, Episode 5. To date, this is the most updated form Shallot can get in combat.

While Super Saiyan God is a powerful form, newer game updates have largely left Shallot underpowered in the current character roster. New anniversary modes have brought an additional rarity level, Ultra, with more powerful characters that newer players will struggle to defeat without help. However, suppose you train Shallot enough and rank him up fully. In that case, he can still put up a fight, especially considering he effectively has no type of disadvantage players can utilize against him in combat.

With the third anniversary in August 2021, there are hints Shallot will receive the next stage in transformation, Super Saiyan Blue. However, players are left to speculate if and when the next form will give Shallot the boost he needs to fight stronger foes.

Win Combats by Transforming in DragonBall Legends

DragonBall Legends is a mobile game that emphasizes skill, good reflexes, and strategy to win against opponents in PvP matches. While transforming units are not extremely common, they can win a fight with various stat boosts that allow them to prevail in the long run. Shallot is an exception, though, as he can unlock multiple forms over the story mode, which the players can access later in the game.
