If you’re new to the Discord social messaging platform, you’ll find it has much to offer. With new users joining every day, it can be overwhelming to try and keep up with which of your friends have joined. Thankfully, there are several ways to find your friends on Discord, with or without key information.

Finding Someone’s Account on Discord

The easiest way to find someone on Discord is by using their unique username and tag number. But what do you do if you don’t have those details? There are other ways to find your friends by using other search terms.

If you know or suspect a portion of your friend’s username, you may be able to find them. There are two methods to do so. The first one involves a search directly within Discord. The other method involves using a different search engine. You can try the alternative method if one method doesn’t give you the right results. To search for a friend using the Discord app, follow these steps:

Launch the Discord app on your phone.
If prompted, enter your credentials.
Tap the “Search” icon at the bottom of the screen.
In the “Search Window,” first type “@” and then continue with what you think their username is. You don’t need to type the entire name.
You’ll be given a list of suggestions with similar usernames. Tap on any you think could be the one used by your friend. You’ll be taken to their profile where you can see if you’ve found the right person.

The alternative method is to use a bot website that collects data from Discord’s servers. Here you can also try to find them by typing a portion of what you think their username is. To try this method, do the following.

On your computer or mobile device, go to DiscordHub User Search.
Using the search window towards the top of the page, type in what you think your friend’s username is.
Tap the “Search” button.

This service can be slow at times, so be sure to give it more than a few seconds for the search results to populate. You’ll see a list of usernames that match or are similar to the one you typed in. If any of them seem familiar, you can click on the username to see their Discord profile.

Finding Someone on Discord Without Their Number

Even without having your friend’s number, there’s still a possibility that you can find them on Discord. If you have similar interests or play the same games, a good way to locate them is to search through different channels you think they may be a member of. Here’s how to do it:

Launch the Discord app or go to the Discord website.
Go to the server you suspect they may have joined.
Browse through the chat and look for their username.
You can also take a look at the server’s member list.

Finding Someone on Discord with Their Phone Number

If you know your friend’s phone number and they are in your phone’s contact list, you’ll easily be able to find them. Discord allows users to link their phone numbers to their accounts, so if they’ve done so, you’ll be able to find them. To learn how to do so, follow the instructions listed below:

Launch the Discord app on your phone.
Log in with your credentials if prompted.
Tap on the “Friends” icon located at the bottom of the screen.
Click “Find your Friends” towards the top of the screen.
Select “Get Started” and “Allow” to give the app permission to access your phone contacts.
Enter your phone number and press the “Next” button.
You’ll be given a list of Discord accounts that match the numbers in your phone’s contact list.

Finding Someone on Discord With a Tag

When creating a username on Discord, you’ll be given a tag number that’s attached to the end of it. You can’t choose what it’ll be as it’s automatically assigned. This four-digit tag number is unique to you.

Finding Your Friends on Discord Can Be a Challenge

Without having your friend’s full username and tag, finding them on Discord could be a little difficult. But there are several ways you can track them down.
