How to Adjust Volume Without a Remote on a Hisense TV

Hisense TVs come with a functional and user-friendly remote that controls the volume and other functions. But what happens if the remote stops working, or you somehow lose it? Fortunately, it doesn’t mean your viewing experience gets stuck on a single volume level.

How to Adjust Volume Without a Remote on a Hisense TV

There are ways to adjust the volume of your Hisense TV without the remote. Here are a few ideas you can consider.

How to Adjust the Volume Without the Remote on a Hisense TV

Has your Hisense TV remote been acting up lately? Possibly you need to replace the batteries or need a new remote altogether.

Until you figure out the problem and find a solution, an efficient way to adjust the volume on the TV is required. These days, keeping the finger on the two volume buttons while watching a movie seems necessary.

One minute the sound is blasting, and the next, you can’t hear a word anyone is saying. Therefore, try the following solutions if the remote is not on hand or isn’t functioning correctly.

Look for the Buttons

If you’re standing close to the TV, adjusting the volume using the designated buttons is often more convenient. Instead of fishing for the remote under the couch cushions, all you need to do is press the volume up or volume down button a few times.

Now, keep in mind that there are dozens of Hisense TV models, and not all of them have the same control buttons. Some might not even have the volume buttons at all, only the Power button. If you’ve never had to investigate the control button layout on your Hisense, perhaps it’s time to do so.

Look behind the TV, and the volume controls are likely hidden away on the sides. Also, some Hisense TV models offer volume adjustment via the Power button. To change the volume settings, do the following:

  1. Push the Power button to the left or right side. You will see the volume changing.
  2. When you reach the settings you want, release the button.

Note: By pushing the Power button front and back, you can change the channels on your Hisense TV.

Use the RemoteNOW App

You don’t really need to use a remote with your Hisense TV at all. Instead, you can turn your smartphone or tablet into a remote.

Let’s face it; our phones are nearby anyway and much easier to locate when you’re lounging around on the sofa. So, why not have the remote on your phone while you’re Googling the cast members of the show you’re watching?

Hisense has its own remote controller app called RemoteNow, and it’s available for both iOS and Android devices. Here’s how to use your mobile device to adjust the volume and numerous other settings for your Hisense TV:

  1. Download and install the RemoteNow app on your device.
  2. Make sure your smartphone and Hisense TV are connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
  3. Launch the RemoteNow app on your device.
  4. Continue the setup by scanning for available devices on your RemoteNow app.
  5. Once your Hisense TV is discovered, make sure the devices are successfully paired.

You can do a lot with the RemoteNow app, such as access streaming services directly, browse for content, and even show photos and videos from your phone.

But most importantly, you can adjust the volume effortlessly. The app’s interface has a volume bar on the left side, and by tapping the “+” or “- “ symbols, you can get the volume at the desired level.

Use the Roku Remote App

Some newer Hisense TV models use Roku OS, giving viewers even more entertainment choices. But that’s not the only benefit of this combination, as it means you can also use the Roku remote app to control the volume and other functions.

If you’re partial to Roku OS and love the minimalistic approach of their interface, you can download the Roku remote app for either iOS or Android devices. Here’s what you should do next:

  1. Make sure your Hisense TV and Roku remote app use the same Wi-Fi network.
  2. Launch the app and follow the instructions on the screen to pair it with the TV.
  3. Select the Remote tab on the app and start changing the volume settings.

Use the Google Home App

Users of older Hisense TV models might also rely on Chromecast devices to get the most out of their viewing experience.

A Chromecast is an inexpensive tool that allows you to stream content and adjust the volume via the Google Home app. If you haven’t gone through the setup process before, here’s how it works:

  1. Plug in the Chromecast device in the Hisense TV HDMI port.
  2. Download and install the Google Home app on your iOS or Android device.
  3. Select the “Set up new devices in your home” option and follow the instructions on the screen.

Once your Google Home app is connected to Chromecast, you’ll see the Hisense TV icon every time you open it on your device.

When you’re streaming content via Chromecast, you’ll find the volume control bar in the Google Home app. You can move it with your finger and adjust the volume levels to your liking.

Maintaining the Volume Control on Your Hisense TV

The TV remote is a very important household device. Ideally, it would always be in the same place at all times. But that’s not always the case, and it’s not uncommon to spend a lot of time looking for the remote to turn up the volume.

Rather than giving up, turn to the RemoteNow app for your Hisense TV and adjust the sound with a few taps on the screen. If your Hisense runs on Roku OS, you can use the proprietary Roku remote available in App Store and Play Store.

Also, don’t forget to check the buttons on the screen, especially if you’re having Wi-Fi issues.
