One of these tools is the slow-motion, or slow-mo, effect, which you can use to slow down your entire video or just parts of it.

How to Use Slow Motion in CapCut on an iPhone

CapCut has been getting a lot of buzz recently thanks to TikTok and Instagram. It’s a free video editing app that’s available for both Android and iPhone devices. This app is also the preferred choice for content creators and influencers on social media apps. It offers creative tools and effects that can make your videos stand out. What’s more, this video editing app is extremely easy to use.

If you want to use the slow-motion effect in CapCut, here’s how it’s done on an iPhone.

Open CapCut on your iPhone.
Tap on the “+ New Project” button at the top of the home page.
Select the “Edit” option in the bottom-left corner of the toolbar.
Proceed to “Speed” on the toolbar.
Go to “Normal.”
Drag the slider to the left to adjust the speed of the video.
Note: If you want to check how the video looks so far, tap on the play icon right under the video.
Tap on the check mark in the bottom-right corner of the screen.
Navigate to the download icon in the upper-right corner.

It will take CapCut a couple of moments to save the changes you made to the video. The more edits you make, the longer it will take CapCut to process the video and prepare it for downloading. That’s because the slow-motion effect prolongs the duration of the video, and the edited version will take up more room on your phone.

Once you download your video, you can share it on TikTok, WhatsApp, Facebook, and Instagram. If you just want to save the video for now, tap on “Other” and proceed to “Save Video.”

These instructions will help you use the slow-motion effect for the whole length of the video.

If you want to use slow motion for only one part of the video, this is what you need to do.

Upload a new video to CapCut.
Go to the “Edit” icon in the bottom-left corner of the screen.
Move the slider to where you want the slow motion to start.
Select the “Split” tool.
Do the same for the end of the slow-motion part.
Continue to the “Speed” option and then to “Normal.”
Slow down the video by dragging the round slider to the left.
Note: The normal speed is 1x, so to slow the video down, adjust it between 0.1x and 1x.
Tap on the check mark icon in the bottom-right corner to save the changes.

Once you have finished editing the video, export it to your device. While you’re adjusting the speed of your video, you also have the option to enhance it. If you tap on the “Make it smoother” option below the toolbar, you can choose between “Faster process” and “Better quality.” There are many more effects that you can use to take your video to the next level.

How to Use Slow Motion in CapCut on an Android

If you’re an Android user, this is how you can add a slow-motion effect to your video using CapCut.

Launch the CapCut app on your Android.
Tap on “+ New Project” and add a video from your gallery.
Go to “Edit” in the bottom-left corner of your display.
Use the “Split” tool to mark the duration if you want to set slow motion for only one part of the video. If you want the entire video to be in slow motion, skip this step.
Tap on the “Speed” tool on the toolbar.
Proceed to the “Normal” option.
Adjust the speed of the slow motion from 0.1x to 1x.
Press “Play” to make sure it works.
Tap on the check mark in the bottom-right corner of the video.
Export the video to your device.
